Howdy!

After looking around, I've decided to set a budget (loose diamond) for about $1400. Ideally, I'd like to get H&A/ACA and about 0.5 ct. So here's what I found:

Which would you choose? Or do you know of any better that I haven't come across yet?

Thanks so much!

you would need hearts images for the ERD and BGD stones.

Ditto. And also Idealscope image for the ERD stone.

This stone is amazing, but you said you wanted around .50... is getting a D in color work losing the size? An H- Ideal cut stone will face up white, especialy in a .50 ct size, so I dont know that D is necessary- but only you can judge how color sensitive you are and whether the D color is worth the drop in size.

You need idealscope and H&A images for this stone. From the information provided you won't know for sure that it is H&A.

You need a H&A image for this stone.... it looks good though.

Is a drop down in color for an extra .12 carat and extra $50 worth it? I've never seen one of these brilliant cut diamonds before so I don't know if there's a discernible difference between the H and I color

If you could deal with an I the last one would be my choice...but I like size over color (within reason).

Thanks but I've never seen these kind of diamonds in person so I'm unable to make a proper choice. I've read from this forum that the I color goes both ways. I'd prefer a more colorless diamond over size but I'm not sure if .12ct is really that much of a difference. Is it?

looks great :) please post pics of the finished ring when you get them!

can't wait to see!!

Well, they just sent me the pictures. The diamond looks smaller than I'd hope for. Eh. Oh well.
