Please Pray for my cousin.

This morning, my mom called me and told me my cousin Gary died in a car wreck last night. Gary and I were close growing up, he''s 10 months older than me. We were the "babies" of the family on my mothers side. He has 1 sibling, my cousin Stewart. In the last year, he''s had to put his mother in a nursing home. She has alzheimer''s and he couldn''t take care of her any longer. Their father died 15 years ago. He''s also in the process of a nasty divorce. I talked to Stewart this morning and he''s doing the best he can. When I asked him if I could do anything, his response was "Pray for me". Thanks.

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate it. I''m sure Stewart does too.

The shock has worn off for me and the tears have begun. It doesn''t help with David being away and Stewart is my closest relative.....6 hrs away. He''s had such a rough few years. When my aunt was diagnosed with alzheimers, he had her move in with him. When she got worse, had a lady watch her full time. Then, when she decided to leave, he had no choice but to put her in a home. He moved her back to Louisville, since that''s where she''d lived for 40 some years. That broke his heart. His soon to be ex wife has been fighting with him for well over a year now to get everything he has. They don''t have any kids, and she makes a good living. And now Gary. Friends help, but it''s not the same as family.

SDL....I''m sorry to hear about you Dad. It''s hard losing a parent. Mine''s been gone for 9 years now. Praying for you and yours.

This is a huge loss for you. Let the tears flow. And be good to yourself. I''m not an expert in loss, but have had a lot of people die that were really close to me. Reaching out to Stewart is the best thing you can do.

But acknowledge your feelings as well, allow yourself to grieve . It takes time. And be patient with yourself.

I am so sorry. This is a terrible thing to happen to someone. Sudden deaths devastate people (all deaths do, but there is something so awful about accidents that just take someone away like that).

My cousin was killed a year ago September riding his bike in California. He was training for a race to raise money for arthritis and he and another man were hit by a catering truck which mowed them down and kept on going. My cousin and his parents are just so grief stricken. I will pray for your cousin and his brother and hope he has people to lean on now...
