Too many photos of a Canada Goose stretching.

Sorry, but I find wings to be incredibly fascinating and beautiful.

More. Told you there'd be too many! :))

Hmmmm, is this:

A. a terrible photo of a bird in motion, or
B. a good photo of water in motion.

Monarch64,

Thank you so much! :))

Not sure what you'll think of this next group.

Maybe its just my sense of humour, but I find them really funny.

:wavey:

Its called 'Wildlife' for a reason.

More 'wildlife'.

After posting six photos of Canada Geese misbehaving, I thought I should post one photo of them napping quietly in the afternoon sun.

However, one of them isn't napping.

He might be the one who came up with the idea to cause havoc amongst the ducks.

That bit of chaos occurred after the 'nap'.

Wood Duck - male

Took these a couple of days ago. This was the first time I'd ever seen a Wood Duck, and the colours and pattern of this bird are quite something. So, unfortunately, I feel compelled to share a lot of photos with you. Sorry.

Trying to have some time alone.

Last photo looks like they're sharing a kiss, and the male is giving me a look that says I've overstayed my welcome.

This is Grom. He's the new Amur tiger at the Philadelphia Zoo. He's 8 years old. Disclaimer: I did not take this picture, which will come as no surprise to anyone who has seen the pictures I do take.

Madam Bijoux,

He's so handsome!

Thanks for sharing this with us.

I hope Grom loves his new home! :))

Here's an old one, this was the first Blue Marlin that we had ever brought up to one of our boats after many failed and catastrophic attempts. The poor angler leaning over the side in the pic spent 4 hours battling the fish with more than 30lb of pressure and had suffered heat stroke, dehydration, torn muscles in his arms, chest and his hands were a mess of blisters. He was pretty happy though!!
The fish was estimated to be somewhere around 500lb.

Ha, December, I just took some photos last week of some American Wigeons while out on a walk down the street. I got their not-so-good side haha! These are from last week. It's supposed to be sunny tomorrow so I'd like to go out and play with my new camera. I'll post more if I get anything good.

Wow!

What a beautiful fish! And big!

And what a battle to bring him in!

I bet this photo brings back the excitement and exhilaration of that day.

Thanks for sharing this with us, Jordy. :))

Sonnyjane,

That first photo is perfectly timed!

Until a couple of weeks ago, I had no idea what a wigeon was.
It sounds like something that would be kept in a toobox; 'Hey, pass me that wigeon and next I'll need a Robertson screwdriver.'

I love your bird photos!
Eagles are so incredible, and capturing the shot showing its wingspan is wonderful.

Congratulations on your new camera! That's so exciting! :appl:

I'm sure you'll have lots of fun!
I've found photography to be rather addictive.

Robin and a Red-winged blackbird.

I was surprised to find out that some Robins stay in the area all winter.

This red-winged blackbird has more red than the previous red-winged blackbirds I posted.
Not being a bird person, I don't know why. Usually, I look things up because I love learning, but I'm going to be lazy today.

Beaver

These photos were taken at the end of the day so there wasn't much light, but it was the first time I spotted a beaver while out with my camera.

Hybrid Goose

I'd never heard of, let alone seen, a hybrid goose before but, apparently, they aren't uncommon.
This lovely lady is friendly and gentle. She certainly stands out from the Canada Geese.
The people in the area think she's a mix of Canada Goose and Snow Goose.
I have no idea. But I thought you might find her interesting.
I hope so because I'll be posting more than a few photos of her! :))

december-fire I am not sure which I enjoy more, your photos or your words. Thank you for sharing both with us so selflessly. I look forward to this thread every day.

GCGDanielle,

Awww, thank you so much. I'm blushing.

You should know that words of appreciation just encourage me to post more.

We're having less-than-delightful weather today, so I'm trying to catch up on reviewing the photos I've taken over the last few days.

I just logged back in to post more, and thanks to you, there'll be many more today and tomorrow as I go through them!

Thanks!

:wavey:

Wigeon

Chipmunk
He appears to have his cheeks full of food.

Coyote
She was in the distance, and I was so excited to be able to get a photo that my hands were probably shaking a bit, hence the blurred photo (I'm researching tripods). She seems to be losing her winter coat, from the front towards the back. In some other photos, she's at an angle and appears to have a belly, so I think she might be pregnant.
