She is very real, very pretty, seems to have a nice personality but is in hiding for a second day in a row. Under the sectional. She is tiny so I have to move the sectional to get her out but I am afraid to scare her. Giving her time now... she gets out to eat, though.

Yesterday I found this woolly bear caterpillar. According to the farmer's almanac if there is more brown than black banding it should be a mild winter! So I guess we will wait and see if they're right.

No, live in California but traveled on a 18-day cruise there up the coast of Norway into the Arctic Circle for 9 days.

@december-fire Wood Ducks are such a cool bird. Mrs. Wood duck looks so drab to us humans, but ducks have an extra set of cones to allow them to see UV radiation. So, they see reds, greens, yellows and blue much more vibrantly. Here's more how she would look to a male Wood Duck.
