“With apologies to dog lovers, dogs are not the sharpest tools in the shed” :lol-2:

thanks @missy

Our friend made hollowed out gourds for a Martin colony. He has built up quite the community. It's so cool. Here are a lot of pics.

Our friend hangs them, brings them down in the winter, maintains them, cleans them, adds fiberglass when necessary and rehangs them in the spring.

Tortoise in middle of road. Greg moved him/her to safety as we were told to do last year by the Park rangers.

Video. How did the tortoise cross the road safely?

@missy Don't encourage him! We named him Kermit and let him go. We think there is a colony of them and are going to do some more investigations tomorrow! :geek2:

Yay. I was hoping you’d say that. ❤️

Driving 65 mph on GSP and lo and behold beautiful deer oblivious to the traffic whizzing by. Enjoying a snack. Stay safe sweet deer.

This is my all-time favourite dog walk: beautiful scenery, peaceful, narrow boats chugging past on the canal. I could sit and daydream for hours about the lives of the people who married in the church. I’d love a sped-up film of nature slowly reclaiming it over the centuries (it was dissolved in the 1500s and hasn’t been used since, to my knowledge).

Makes me cry :(
We’ve ruined their land and home ;(
They’re in the middle of a busy neighborhood.

And they don’t know where to go :(
Cause we’ve destroyed their homes. Unconscionable. :blackeye:

The maple tree in my driveway that usually turns color first to signal fall. I am happy and sad at the same time that another year is going by :)4A5C7090-2F2A-4356-B275-439998A6C071.jpeg

I watched the 60 Minutes interview with Sir David Attenborough and cried after. I am anxiously awaiting his new film. We can fix this. We can.

I hope and pray you are right. I would gladly pay more taxes or do anything within my power to fix this. It's so unfair. It was their land first. We came here and did so much damage to so many. Not just animals of course but OMG when I see this. It breaks my heart. I feel the pain radiate through my body knowing their plight. They were crying. It was horrible. And there was absolutely nothing we could do. We waited to see if they would try crossing the big road so I would help them as I've done before. I stop traffic by standing in the road so they can safely cross. But they didn't want to cross and they went back the other way. I hope they found a safe place for now. :(

This is a favourite view at the moment, the sun and shadows combine to make an archway. A view from the kitchen window that only lasts a few minutes.
