My mom got all of my grandma's estate jewels and she passed 2 pieces to me. As they were set in rather old-fashioned and heavy 22K gold, she got them reset.

Just wondering what they are, coz the jeweler who helped reset them said they are Old Mine Cuts, but they look more like modern round brilliants to me ...

profile shots?

Will this do? It's now dark outside my area and indoor lighting is crap ...

Looks pretty round to be, always thought OMC is suppose to be more cushion like. Faceting also looks modern. The profile shot is to see if the crown height is high, most of the old cuts are, but cannot really tell from this image.

Thanks!

I suppose they're modern brilliants then, esp after doing a few calculations of my mom and grandma's ages. I'm guessing here but the 0.7ct was probably bought in the 50s, and the studs in the late 70s, both fr local B&M, so it wld be unlikely for them to be OMCs, i think.
