Hi everyone - I’m currently searching for a 3-carat elongated cushion cut diamond. I’ve done some research and reviewed existing blogs, but would really appreciate some expert advice on finding the best quality and value for my budget.

I’ve narrowed down my options to two diamonds that seem to meet my criteria, and would love to get your thoughts on whether it’s a good choice, or if I should keep looking. Thank you in advance for your insights!

1. 3.11ct D VVS2 Excellent Cut Cushion Lab Grown Diamond

2. 3.08ct D VVS2 Rare Carat Ideal Cut Cushion Lab Grown Diamond (360° Video)

Thanks so much again for your help.

The 3.11 is very pretty but you need the sharp eyes of others here to look for crystal defects. The 3.08 has no video and thanks to GIA, we don't know which growth process was used.

Now I like the 3.08, I think it's more crisp. But wait for better eyes to give an opinion.

I'm liking the 3.08, but let's ping @Karl_K who's the real expert.

Personally, I prefer watching videos like the 3.08 bc I get a better idea of how the light hits the facets, but I'm not expert on these cuts. I just own one lol

Thank you for your insight! And for looping in Karl.
I wish I had a 360 video of the other diamond, too!!

@Karl_K - would love your thoughts! Thank you in advance.

$8k that sounds nuts and for me a no go.

Hi Karl, I found them for less on a diff site --

The 3.08 ct is $3774, 3.11 ct is $3291.
Is that a reasonable price? Thanks again for your help!

yes that's a good market price.
The only way to be sure with stones like this is to see them in person.
If there is a good return policy I think its worth an in person look.

Okay thank you! Is it worth seeing both in person? Or there's one that stands out to you that's worth starting with and seeing if I love it in person? Thanks again.

I would start with the 3.08 and if that dont work then find another.
The 3.11 isn't anything special and better ones can be found, at worst finding a similar one will be easy if the 3.08 doesn't work out.

Last question - I read some info online saying to avoid a 'thick' girdle thickness.
Is it okay that the 3.08 has that?
Appreciate your help.

If you were ready to pay 8K (why didn't I say something?) you can order both and return one. Spend a few days walking around in varying lighting. They will have different personalities. Inside, outside, kitchen, bathroom, fluorescent closet lighting. Just let all these enter your eye.

its typical for the design
On rounds its a deal breaker...on some fancies its expected.

Hi @Karl_K and diamond experts that see this thread,

I'm back -- still researching some other diamonds.
I listed two new diamonds below, and wanted to see if you still thought the original 3.08ct is the best option? Or if one of the other two diamonds listed below is a better option?

Thank you so much again for all of your help - I think this'll be the last question that I have!? Haha

3.35 has potential
I am not at my pc to check for crystal issues.

3.10 is a hard no. See the very dark sides.

Still like the 3.08
