Polishing your own nails

I like that color too.

In the past, I have bought the small size like 4 in a sample kit kind of thing. As someone mentioned, I would buy polish and never get the right hand correct and then they would go to waste over years and I would throw away.

I figured quarantine is a perfect time to keep practicing.

It doesn’t have a name on it not sure why it’s called fishbowl but I get it at the grocery store and it’s in a fishbowl and on my receipt it will say OPI fishbowl 40C8B66F-E9F7-4054-BD26-81D06B3928F3.jpeg

Agreed.
Paying someone else to paint your nails seems silly to me.

It takes as long and costs more so not worth it if you can do a decent job yourself imho but I think some people like the pampering and others don’t want the hassle if diy.

I go to the salon every so often, usually with friends, out here you can byob to most of them so it’s a common girl’s day out activity.

I always enjoyed giving myself a manicure and pedicure.
Its a good Saturday night activity!

It has been something I do after everyone has settled down for the night. I stay up, watch a movie and paint my nails. I pamper myself. Every so often I do it during the day when no one is home. If I go to a salon it is faster but costly, there is no movie, no hershey kisses, no glass of wine and the manicurist is speaking a language I don't understand so there is no social engagement either.

I usually do my own, too. I get my nails done at a salon once in a while but I don't find it the big treat that a lot of women seem to.

Perhaps you should change the lamp to fix the gel polish. Have you bought your UV lamp long ago? I think it might be broken. How long do you keep each nail under the light of your lamp? Try to keep your hand there longer than usual to better fix the gel polish. I studied nail art at nwcollege.edu. And our teachers said each nail should be fixed under the lamp several times for 60 seconds. If this doesn't help you, then your gel polish is spoiled. This happens when manufacturers or carriers keep gel polishes at low temperatures. Low temperatures prevent this liquid from sticking together and fixing the nails.
