I answered that I didn''t want a surprise, and that''s how we did it. The proposal time/day was a ''surprise,'' but I''m not really a surprise kind of girl. I picked out the stone/setting, but didn''t see it prior to his proposal, which was enough of a surprise for me. I''m really missing my ring right now while it''s being appraised.

And I''m not looking forward to sending it back to Whiteflash to have it sized, so I think I''m going to put that off as long as possible.

Also, wanted to add that I love the little photo for your avatar, gwendolyn. You and SO are so cute!!!

I definitely want to pick everything out! My SO will have a great taste in jewelry for me... in about 30 years. He picks out pieces that are very elaborate-red-carpet or very 30th anniversary. I can''t wait to get gifts from him when I''m 50, but for now, I know he needed my guidance on the e-ring. He''s very much open to this, though. He knows I have issues with surprises/anyone being in control over me, so he''s fine with it.

I''ve always wanted it to be a surprise. All I told him was that I wanted metal in white (right now my opinion has changed on this issue). But my BF was too afraid to get me something I didn''t like, so I reluctantly started researching ring styles and options. It ended up being perfect because I was able to slash his budget by 2/3! Not that it was an issue, but I wanted him to save it for our future.
I would have said yes to anything though. It''s about the effort and the gesture.
