I was in a similar situation. We went to Paris and London in April of 04. He had my grandmother''s diamond and knew what setting I wanted. We just never outright talked about it, both pretending it was a secret.

This is easier said than done, but you just can''t dwell on it. We arrived Saturday and DH didn''t propose until Wednesday. Whenever we''d be somewhere pretty or somewhat private I''d think, is this it? Is this it?

You just need to let your sweetie do his thing. It won''t be a very nice proposal memory if you said, "Argh! Are you going to propose??!! It''s driving me crazy!"

As for being nervous about what to say, I''m sure your boyfriend is more nervous than you are! DH was so nervous he just said, "I want you to be my wife" and put a ring on my finger. I was like, "Hey! You skipped the part where I get to participate!"

It will happen when the time is right (and maybe not on this trip, so again, don''t get it set in your head). Until then, enjoy your special moments together in their own right, not because they might be the moment when he proposes.

Erin, your sweet posts really cheered me up this morning. Thank you so much, that was so sweet of you!!

I am feeling A LOT better about things now than I was a few hours ago. I just cleaned out all of the old pictures on my camera to make room for more pics and in the process I went through four trips my boyfriend and I took together last year and was reminded of all the wonderful memories we had together in Las Vegas, Wine country, Vancouver, and snowmobiling in the Colorado Rockies. Looking back at all of the fun times we''ve had together travelling really got me in good spirits and excited about our trip to Hawaii tomorrow. Even though it is looking like a proposal isn''t going to happen, I am truly excited to be going on another wonderful trip with the man I love.

Now, as for posting from a blackberry on my trip to report back to you ladies...I''ve been on my boss''s case for a year to hook me up with one but haven''t had much luck in that department. lol.

Excuses excuses! Go to the AT&T store (or T-Mobile or whatever) and trade in your personal phone.

I know you will have a WONDERFUL time and make even more magical memories, ring or not. I really believe you will have an amazing vacation and laugh about the stress posts from earlier when you come back. All that matters is your happiness together in a beautiful locaion, far from work and stress.

As for the PDA issue, I must agree with EricaR again - time to trade up and UPGRADE. hehe A brand new phone would be a lovely way to begin.

okay, okay. perhaps it about time for me to get myself a blackberry or an iphone. My boss pays for my cell phone which she said I can use for both personal and work purposes. So I''ve been stuck with whatever phone she thinks is good enough for me. But that doesn''t mean I can''t go out and get another phone for myself that I pay for. DUh. I don''t know why I didn''t think of this sooner.

nevertheless, it isn''t going to happen between now and 3 a.m. when I leave for my trip! But it will be nice to have for when he does propose (whenever that is!).

I know i was thinking about her too! I thought her trip was a week, but i could be wrong. Which if it is correct we should be hearing in the next few days how her wonderful trip was. No matter if there was a proposal or not i just hope they enjoyed each others company and came away with great memories!
