Hi, everyone, I just purchased my princess cut diamond and it just got mounted on the ring last night!

It is beautiful and I looked at it for 10 minutes myself.

I am here to share my experience with some major retailers I have been dealing with. I hope this helps all other groom-to-be diamond buyers like me.

ExcelDiamond.com.
This retailer has a good website. I find it the easiest to use. However, it does not have the grading report scanned so I have to email to request the diamond’s report one by one.
Barry from Exceldiamond.com is a great person to work with. He is very honest. Back then when I was still clueless about diamond cuts and only cared about the price, I found one diamond certified by EGL with a very low price. Barry examined the diamond and told me that he thinks the diamond’s color and clarity are way off from what EGL states. He recommended me to look for other diamonds.
I really appreciate the honesty from Exceldiamond.com.
Robbins Brother
OK, this store may not have good reputation from pricescope but the sales did provide good service. Most importantly, it is the only that allowed me to compare loose diamonds one by one in front of my eyes. Although RB always gives detail education on color and clarity, RB did not emphases much on cut. People including me find that RB’s diamonds are more expansive. However, please do not think that all diamonds that RB sells are over-priced, too. If you are an educated buyer, you get treated very differently! On my last day of visiting RB, the sales there showed me a very good cut diamond with a completely different style of beauty compare with the one I bought. RB was still $870 more expansive but one color grade better. It was between brilliance and fire, and my future wife and I happen to like more fire on a diamond.
Because of the timeline of my proposal, good service and the store is closer to my office, I eventually bought the ring from RB and let them set my diamond, too. When I picked up my ring, the demonologist there came to me and gave compliments about my diamond.
CraftedbyInfinity
I bought my diamond here. Infinity diamonds meet all my early filtering requirements. After checking with so many retailers for a princess cut diamond, Infinity’s diamonds look the best on ASET scope for me. I like to see the red in the middle of the ASET scope which most princess cuts have a green hole which is actually not bad. However, I admit I am a little picky there. All their princess cuts have perfect L:W ratio, crown height % more than 10, and at least AGS excellent cut grade. This saves me time to do the filtering work. I am glad I can find a diamond that is made perfectly by both nature and man. The retailers of CraftedbyInfinity I have met online, Todd from niceice.com and Isaac from dscaasi.com are all wonderful people. Todd is very knowledgeable and for me, niceice.com has the most comprehensive reading materials about diamonds. Isaac from dscaasi.com can accept credit card transaction without extra charge by googlecheckout which is very convenient. For a first time diamond internet buyer like me, it is the easiest way to pay and have a peace of mind at the same time.
I highly recommend people to visit CraftedbyInfinity.com before they make their final decisions on buying a princess cut diamond.

Other retailers I have encountered include uniondiamond.com, GOG, and rockdiamond.com. They all have good service and patient sales. I feel lucky I met so many good people. In fact, to my surprise, most of my unpleasant experiences came from the B & M stores in the mall and plazas.

Finally, my advice to first-time diamond buyers:
Don’t settle for less! When you hear someone tell you that this diamond is as good as you can get in this price range, ignore it. Don’t let them box yourself into their universes. There are plenty of diamonds out there. All you have to do is to work hard to find it. I studied hard and I feel pound of the diamond I will give to her. The best part here is that I appreciate diamonds more now. I have learned to enjoy one more beauty in the world.
