Tacori Tessa is so adorable in her snowsuit!!

Tacori, Tessa''s so cute in her snowsuit. I love all of her outfits.

NF, how has it already been a month? Your boys are adorable.
9.gif

TG, thanks for the reminder to read up on sleep now.

Thanks iluv & NF. My mom bought the hat and mittens at an art fair. They are so cute! Still wish my D60 had been in working order. My fault for letting the battery run out.

neat-love the pic of your boys, they are growing for sure!

tacori-tessa is so cute in her snow outfit. I love the brown and pink. my girls will not wear anything brown. well, I take that back, Lily did pick out a pink and brown dress and leggings from Gymboree this Christmas but my oldest would not wear brown if you paid her.

tgal-yay for Amelia clapping. Jake does it every now and then but I think it''s more of an accident. he won''t imitate me clapping but he will take my hands and clap them together
33.gif
. any progress on the scooting/crawling front?

snlee- I bet D will be rolling over before you know it...

Blen, I do get carried away. She is pretty well dressed! Haha.

NF, I forgot to tell you how cute M & D are in their one month pic!

TGal, it took T forever to clap too but now she does it all the time. Ame must be proud!

MrsS, luckily she doesn''t have a say...yet! I am taking advantage until she tells me what *she* wants to wear. I am bracing myself for a tomboy since I am such a girlie girl. She is rather adventurous and brave.

Snlee, one of my friend''s son sat before he rolled. Go figure. I have heard it is common for boys to do things out of order.

BTW I meant to ask...I realized recently that it takes me a ave. of 90 mins to fall asleep every night. Any tips? I wake up MORE tired than when I go to bed. I also wake up throughout the night *very* easily.

Tgal--i must go over and check that colored stone thread. very exciting! And yay for amelia clapping. Super cute isn''t it.

MrsM--so happy that your milk supply has returned, that is great news. I hope A gets her teeth in soon-poor love.

Tacori--oh my sweetness--so good that you got some snow pics before it melted.

Getting so annoyed with Co not taking a sippy cup. I''ve tried 4 different spouts but he just won''t take more than a sip or two. grr. I don''t go back to work until late march but i would really like him to start drinking from a source other than my boob. I may try a little juice to see if it is just that water that he''s not thrilled about. Anyone have other suggestions? I am up for trying whatever.

watched the swearing-in ceremony today. I am so excited for the US right now--even took a pic of Co with the T.V in the background (for the section of his baby book that has a section on current events)
thought i would share...

aw Jas12- He is so darn cute..i just love your little man..

tacori- you know, I was a tomboy and of course I end up with 2 girlie girls. In the summer they will only wear dresses...go figure. as for the sleeping, you might try taking valerian root? It won't knock you out like some of the heavy sleep aids and it's a natural herb. I've never taken it but my hubby loves the stuff.

ETA: oh and Jas12, I've got no advice on the sippy cup. Jake will not drink out of one either. I've tried several brands, including the straw kind and he just plays with them. he'll take sips of water out of a real glass and that's it. I actually didn't start Lily on a sippy until she was one or closer to it, so hopefully the 2 months between now and their first b-days will make the difference. I've tried putting juice in them and jake could care less so that didn't work for me.

YAY! I log on to post some new pics of my collection in SMTR and I also get a dose of baby pics
30.gif

Everything is going well here - James has been going down very easily at night and is only waking up 1 time - and DH gets him then and takes care of him! Superhubby to the rescue! Work is busy, busy, busy. Glad to see that everyone is doing well.

jas12 Co is so handsome!! and sorry but no advice on the sippy cup. have you tried to use a straw instead?

tacori sorry to hear about tessa''s fall. there will be many more to come.

snlee thanks. B is doing a bit better. he didn''t get up last night which was good. good to hear that D''s sleeping is going well and that he is putting himself to sleep. if you are sure that he is not waking cause he is hungry, don''t nurse him. he''ll just get used to it. but if you are sure he is hungry, then of course you have to nurse him. has he been napping in the crib?

neat your boys are adorable!!

Cute pics ladies! Love the dots on Tessa, but love Tessa more!

Jas, I was going to take the same pic today, but I felt lazy. Looking at yours, I already regret not doing it. But I''m the freak who currently has no pics of Amelia in the house with the exception of the one my mom stuck in frame because she was so tired of looking at the stock photo baby. And that pic of Amelia is when she was a couple of weeks old! I''m bad!

Sippy cup...have you gals tried Born Free with the training spout? My friend''s kid didn''t like them but finally did try the born free. If you are using born free bottles at all, it wouldn''t be too expensive to try...all you need is the training spout because the training cup uses all the same parts, including valve and outer ring. Amelia loves her born free cup, but she loved it because she liked to chew on it to start with.

hi ladies!

just stopping by to say hi, i am too tired to read further back than this page.

Tacori- that pic of tessa is adorable. I almost bought a snowsuit for Ian last week in case we end up going to mammoth next month...but we probably wont. He hates the sand, I doubt he will like the snow! As for the fall, Ian is currently a mess. He has a hardwood floor burn on his chin and an uneven brick scrape on his forehead. Argghhh...when will they be stable. Hope she is feeling better!

Jas- I had asked my DH to take a pic like that of Ian and he did not (i was at work). So i''m just going to take his picture on the couch tomorrow with the front page of the LA times.

I''ll come by again soon. Hope everyone is well!

NF
The boys are adorable! And getting big (goes quick, doesn''t it?
5.gif
)
Glad to hear you are getting some sleep.

Jas12
Adorable pics!
Maybe the rest of the world will like us again (someday).
At least now there is a chance...
Are you burried in snow up there?

Tacori
If you ever miss the snow, come visit - we have more than enough. At least a couple feet anyway.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Jas12, that is a really cool idea! Poor T''s baby book is pretty much nonexistent. Tessa JUST started "getting" the sippy cup. We use Nuby. She just started this game of spitting out te water all over her face though. Gets her pretty wet. I complained to a friend who said her son did the same thing so I guess it is common.

MrsS, I should try it! It is so frustrating!

Puffy, you are right but I don''t think I will ever get used to see my baby bleed.
39.gif
It is heartbreaking.

TGal, thanks friend!

msF, they have had a ROUGH winter to maybe you will use it. I just bought a cheapie for Ohio which never snowed when we were there. The driveway is pretty steep plus she was unbalanced by the snow clothes but I know what you mean. Poor Ian!

iluv, crazy! I mean I am from the midwest where we got tons of snow but it is amazing how your views change drastically (and quickly!)

Iluvcarats--lol, well, i am ashamed to admit that ''america bashing'' is one of Canada''s national sports and the Bush administration provided a bounty of fodder. But yesterday i think it is safe to say the overwhelming majority of canadians wanted to ''high five'' the US for ushering in such a huge change. It feels like such a new, cleaner, hopeful beginning. I just wish Obama didn''t have to come meet our idiot PM as his first international visit.

Co was up 8 times last night
6.gif
14.gif
. I have NO idea what his problem was/is. He was drooling quite a bit when i went in to check on him, but he''s fine this morning. If only someone could invent a baby-cry decoder
20.gif

Tacori: What a cutie! I love how she is gazing in the distance as if posing professionally! I tried to take a photo with chloe out in the snow but some flakes hit in her face and she was so confused, so I felt bad and went back in!

Snlee: wow, D sounds like he''s doing great! How''d you get him to start sleeping on his own? I feel kind of nervous that I''m still in the habit of rocking Chloe to sleep-I''m in that cycle where she''s used to it and I"m too busy with my work schedule to make time to try to change her habits. Yikes. Good for D for his half roll too!

Jas12: Those are some great photos!

jas12- jake had a night like that a couple of nights ago. I could not figure out what was wrong or why he kept waking up? thankfully last night was back to normal so hopefully it was just a rare fluke for Jake and for Co too.

35.gif
Hi mommies!! Really quickly wanted to pop in and say hello. We just started second semester today so I've been crazy busy...add to that I ran out to get a soda during my plan period and was run into by a Time Warner Cable van that drove off after hitting me!!!
29.gif

I'll be back later to catch up with everyone, but had to comment on the adorable pics!! Miss Tessa looks so darn cute in her cold weather gear and I love the pic of Co and the TV. I really should get a pic of T with something to mark this time, too. Good thinking Jas!!

jas12, teething maybe? Either way that sucks. Hope tonight is better.

Janine, I think I have a freak child b/c she LAUGHS when rain hits her. We started taking her into the shower at like 2 months so I think that''s why she is not afraid of water. She loves it.

MrsS, hope Jake has a better night too.

Burk, oh no! At least you can call TWC and I am sure they can figure out who hit you by the damage.
38.gif

jas12 hopefully Co is back to normal tonight. maybe he''s got some teeth coming in?

tacori it is very heartbreaking when they fall and get cut up. B is a total boys boy. the only time he really cries when he falls is if i make a big deal out of it. if he falls and i walk away or not look at him, he''ll get right back up and go back to whatever he was doing. i obviously make a big deal out of it when it LOOKS to be a bad fall.
B loves water also. when it rains, he looks up and when the rain water gets him in his face, he laughs hysterically. i''m trying to convince DH to take him to the snow, but DH is against it.
did you sleep well last night?

burk WHAT?!?!? they hit you and just took off?

the closet people are coming next week to start on my closet that needs to be organized. the guy told me that they can do wonders. DH said that if i get the room cleared out, we can maybe start TTC in a few months. i told that to the closet guy and he said it can be done. we''ll see.

Jas, I hope Co has a better night. There are a lot of flukes in sleep I realize and I wouldn''t worry too much about it.

Burk, I hope you are OK! Another reason to hate the cable guy!!!

puffy, her nose looks bad today! Plus she is sick anyways poor girl. She is a mess. I slept fairly well. I finally fell asleep around 11:30 only to have DH wake me up by setting the alarm, being load, AND trying to talk to me
29.gif
So I moved to our guest room and fell asleep right away. I remember waking up at 4:30 (b/c she was fussy) and then 3 more times before she woke up for the day. I seriously should just start sleeping in the guest room. DH didn''t even notice even though he was UP when I moved
20.gif
Ummm...okay...He is such a heavy sleeper and snores so it does wake me up.
15.gif

Hope the closet guy works his magic! Let us know. Take before and after pics!

TGal, BTW I am going to order the 5 million crumpler. You think it will be a good size? There is no where locally I can see it first which is so annoying!

I didn''t see the 4 million when I bought it but it is the perfect size for what I needed.

What do you want to carry in the bag? I think 5 million is a nice size as well...you should be able to fit a lot more in. However, I know you have an extra lens off the bat which would take up all the room in my 4.

In my 4 million, I can fit my D40 with the 18-200 lens on (it is huge), the SB400 speedlight, my canon850 and that''s pretty much it. I could probably fit a spare battery, a mini tripod and some memory cards in the side pocket. Have you checked out other camera bags like the lowepro and tamarack (I think that is the name...I get mixed up with the lens manufacturer which I think is Tamron). At least if you check their bags out, you can make sure they are not in the running.

I love my red 4 mil crumpler...it''s perfect for me and surprisingly comfy to carry.

Tgal, I like that it doesn't LOOK that a camera bag KWIM? I have two lenses which I will want to carry probably all the time. I envy your long one! Maybe someday I will sell my two to get your one. I have the same speed light. I am getting an extra battery and some cleaner. I figure I rather have a tad extra room for growth!

ETA: I am planning to get some filters too.

I think the 5 million would be a nice "consumer" size. When I hunted around the forums at dpreview, some serious hardcore guys were carrying around the 6, and of course 7.

Where are you buying it? Make sure they have a return policy, just in case.

ETA, re: lens...I'd see just what you like the shoot and buy a lens that will do a good job of that. The walkaround lens is convenient but it doesn't take exceptional pics of anything. Course, that is easily user error, lol.

Now, if you like having an all in one lens and find you miss shots because the wrong lens is on, that's another thing altogether....

TGal, I find at home I use the short lens b/c Tessa walks or gets close to me. At the park or outside I like the longer lens so I can get stand farther back. I am guessing I don''t need anything larger than the 5. I was going to buy through Amazon.

Amazon, I believe, doesn''t sell much of the crumpler bags direct (although I recall seeing a couple way back when I was looking.) Do you know much about 3rd party vendors? Check who it is actually sold by and what the return policy is. So many vendors have amazon storefronts. Have you got the link?

TGal, I do know about the third party. I will have to search again. It is on the back burner b/c I had to concentrate on some airline tickets (which I just got a few hours ago) and now a new macbook. This is silly but do you travel with your nikon? I guess I should right? Whole point of having it! Haha. Maybe not when I am traveling alone with T though.

OK, let me know...there are some fishy dealers out there, but since this is just a camera bag, I think you''d be fine wherever you purchased it from.

Yes, I take it. It is so much more responsive than my canon that I feel empty without it. I took it to Oz. But if I were just to take her for a walk in the park, I''d probably take my canon unless it was a more special day. Same with friend''s homes that we usually hang out in. Any trip to Disneyland or zoo or whatever, I''d be a dork and bring the big guns.

TGal, DH and I are going to Vancouver to visit my little brother. I am so excited. So I will bring it for that. I brought my Nikon to the park. I did get a few funny looks. I also brought it my friend''s twin b-day party (but she has one so I knew she would appreciate it) and one of the parents was like "oh, are you a journalist." No, just an obsessed mom. Bwahah! I''ll let you know when I find the link (just in case). Their website is HORRIBLE BTW!
