#JOTW Purple Garnets Show and Tell

I've been meaning to post these earrings my sweet friend got me for Christmas. They are from Yvonne Raley, and the setting is similar to my necklace. Though they aren't from the same find as my JW pear, and are a bit lighter, I think they are a beautiful purple and am enjoying wearing them with my necklace.

Last summer, at a 3 day gem & mineral show in West Springfield, Mass. The seller was New Era Gems.

So many wonderful purple garnets and jewellery here. Acinom, as usual, your ring is beautiful, and unique. I saw your drawings from Alistair Kelsey a while ago. You must be so excited to finally have your ring.
 
I've been trying so hard to stick to a 'no-buy' on jewelry in 2016 but these are making things really hard!!!
 
Anyone seen the purple garnet rough that Joe Henley has been posting lately? Its not the Mozambique material (supposedly from Tanzania), but it sure looks delicious.

This is a pair of rhodolites from Mozambique that I bought online, sold as "grape purple" garnets. 4.19 tcw.

No setting plans for them yet :)

I love everything purple, but have not yet set mine. I would like to get PSers' feedback on the setting - it seems to me that Mosambique (and other) purple garnets darken in a setting, is it so? What has been your experience with types of setting you used?

Sorry for not posting anything - on cheapest Samsung camera yet!

Here's my ring, set in green gold. It's part of a stacking ring set that I wear regularly. The garnet is a pastel pyrope from Jeff Hapeman.
