I asked yesterday about how hard squarish-shaped cushions are to find. My jeweler wrote me back with the dimensions of the stone my SO picked out. It is 6.27 mm height & 5.82 mm width. He told me that it''s under a 1/2 mm difference and that cushions under 3/4 are considered squares. Does anyone have any idea if this cushion would appear to be a square IRL? My SO picked it out at the jeweler so I wasn''t involved in that process. I know it''s not a perfect square, but do you think this stone will suffice for that general look? He''s making me a custom setting that is close to the Tiffany Novo if that helps any. Thanks for any feedback!

1.07 l/w ratio some people will notice it isn''t square.

Sorry, is that the L:W ratio mine would have? Not sure how to figure that out...terrible at math.

length divided by width.

btw .5mm to .75mm is BS it depends on the size of the stone.
.5mm is a lot on a 5mm stone and nothing on a 20mm stone.
In general 1.04 l/w ratio is what I would consider the outer edge of square.

I know mine is close to 1 carat. Does anyone have a stone with height and width stats simliar to mine? If you do, please, please post! I''m just not a visual person and like I said, my SO is doing this mostly on his own! Thanks so much!

And here it is the other way.

This is so helpful! Thanks to both of you. I actually think it''s really pretty. Kind of a classic cushion shape, right? Now I''m almost wondering if I should have it set the first way? Any thoughts on that?

Thanks!!!

it is to the right ratio l/w the size will vary depending on how your monitor is set and the size of your monitor.
Hold a ruler up to the screen to see how well it matches the size of yours.

I''ll try that. Thanks for all your help today!

Im going to be offline most of tonight as my flu is kicking back in.
Will check back tomorrow at the latest.

I like the long side e/w myself.
