My husband wants to buy me some diamond stud earrings for my birthday. I've never owned any, so I'm very excited! I have been looking at the Whiteflash website, and I'm interested in the Martini settings. I am unsure however about what kind, the 3-prong or the 8-prong. I am interested in their 0.75 tcw ready set pair, in 18k yellow gold. I don't know what they look like, because WF only has a picture of the white gold versions. Any one have pictures they could show me?
Does anyone have experience with these studs? Are their any considerations I should think about regarding 3 vs 8 prongs aside from just the way they look? Will they hold on to the diamond better?
Also, why would anyone choose their own diamonds and buy only the setting vs buying the ready set pair? I am not a diamond conaisseur (but I do like looking!), so would be happy with any decent sparkly diamond... Just curious.
I'm so excited! If these turn out nice, I will be back to get a diamond wedding band and matching e-ring! (My original set is long gone...)
Thanks for all of everyone's help.
