hi Diagem,

I couldn't help but notice when I went to your new website the other day there was a picture of, I think you called it an old mine pear?

Could you please tell us more about this cut or others and any information you want to share about the webiste/ business you have/ are building?

I think your cuts with the culets being the right size and particularly the pear are beautiful. That picture was very impressive.

thanks,

Danny

Hi Danny. Thanks for the compliment, I truly appreciate it.
Yes, I call it an OMP (Old-Mine Pear), although GIA identify this brilliant cut as a Modified Pear Brilliant. but 8-)

The website in my signature line is just a parked webpage in which I have not decided if I will further develop or not. It came to life right after the Octavia press release by PriceScope when I courageously decided to expose my identity on PS and open a communication channel with whoever chooses to engage in such. Prior to that I preferred being anonymous as I was (and still am overly cautious) not a fan of Internet exposure.

For those reasons I decided not to expose my Company info as I anyways dont work directly with the end consumer so it is irrelevant on this open forum.

I have been studying & cutting Antique/Old cuts for over a decade, its a world of cut possibilities and is extremely fun to produce. The range is simply endless from the cuts developed 400 years ago to the more recent geometrical ArtDeco Era cuts of the early 1900's.

During my years participating on PriceScope I discovered the world of cutting for optical light performance thanks to long debates with some of our long time Cut Nuts pro's (trade & consumers) =) , when it just made sense to further educate myself. I did and discovered a value I did not know existed.
A value for me to further explore into the Diamond cutting world as a value in which a growing consumer audience is searching for.

Today I am cutting OldCuts & other specialized cut designs which are the significant part of my business but also am engaged at cutting extremely precise fancy cuts to optimal light performance. . IMO Octavia is one of the most complicated (if not the most) cuts to successfully achieve which was born and made possible thanks to PriceScope. It did open a world of possibilities (for me) waiting to be explored..., and I intend to further explore it. =)

If you have any more questions, please feel free, I will try my best to further discuss.

Diagem- I LOVE LOVE LOOOOVE the pear you cut and cuhsion (I think?) that you posted on one of my threads on more shallow cut stones.   :appl:

I'm not sure if you can answer this or not, if you can't then just ignore it =) -- where are the stones you cut sold?

I am pretty sure he can't answer that but if you emailed him he might give you a list of clients to ask.

Diagem,

Thanks for your kind reply.

Such eye candy!

I get the feeling of someone who's truly studied the history of diamond cuts and isn't afraid to do what needs to be done- incredible stuff.

Thanks again!
