Question re: wearing multiple CGS colors rings at the same time...

There are no rules. Wear what you love!
I don't like matchy- matchy.
Mix it up! You only live once.

Year
Matchy matchy sucks
i brought earings to match rings and never ever wear them - like the only time they come out of the box is for a picture for some random PS thread
Why did i even buy enhanced black diamond earings ????

I wish I had rings that fit my pinky and middle fingers. I sized all my rings to fit on my fourth fingers. So I don’t have that issue. Would love a yellow gold pinky signet ring.

By chance you or anyone else is interested:

"Ruffs est. 1904 are the oldest makers of signet rings in the United Kingdom."

Where is it from?

I got my Umbalite from Jeff Davies. FYI, his pics are always MUCH brighter than in real life. Here's a comparison between Jeff's picture and mine. I think my pics look great next to his!!

This stone doesn't look like much in low lighting, but as soon as there's some sun it looks fabulous!! This afternoon I checked it out with the sun over my shoulder; it looked great. Then I took these pics about 7 PM while sitting under our deck awning.

OMG, boy do I need some gel nails! :oops2:

You need to go shopping :lol-2:

Can some be sized either up or down

I love pinky rings
The world always needs more pinky rings!

The world is full of pinky rings for me, and it can be for you too!

Just put on loads of weight until your fingers swell up like sausages - you'll find that all your rings have now converted to pinky rings and you didn't even have to get them resized :D

Yes, I wish there was some way of being able to switch rings between different fingers - I know there are those things you can attach inside rings but they aren't all that comfortable.

I really do like the colour on this, particulary in your photos. How dark does it look indoors?

It gets pretty drab looking. Here's some pics inside 1 & 2: not using window for indirect light. The rest: indirect light via a window behind me.

Hmm. I guess that's how it is for garnets of that colour?

I always need at least a half size larger as my hands swell up like bratwurst in warm weather. Which means adding speed bumps so I don't lose them in the winter!!

Unfortunately i am familiar with that process :lol-2:
Im just glad the cooler weather is here now and some actually fit again
Even Gary said his feet look better
Of course now my work shoes are too big
Its weird it happened in about 2 days
Had to dig the winter sheets out of the linnen cupboard

You know that inside colour is still pretty in its own way
Its still a shade of raspberry

It seems that tudor/renaisance/elizabethan royalty and aristocracy were into the mulitple gem set rings look too (men included) - I've referred to them in the past for inspiration.

The index finger + ring finger combination seemed to be common.

Daisy: Where do you live, Australia? I'm in upstate NY and it's finally getting warm weather, in the Finger Lakes. :wavey:

I love the look of multiple colored gems together. But my overarching principle would be that I'd want to wear them all in a way that didn't make any of them look less than their best.

I love gems together that are on opposite sides of the color wheel - purple next to emerald green next to a bright orange, for example - awesome! But it's definitely possible to wear multiple pieces of jewelry so that one piece (or more) is overshadowed, or crowded, or semi obscured. Where the styles are so dissimilar that they just end up looking uncoordinated. Would I do that? No. Is there any rule on this? Of course not. Should you even care? That's up to you.

Unlike a lot of people, I don't mix metals. I dislike the way it looks. While I don't feel things have to be identical, I do like a coordinated look rather than a "mad woman's breakfast" look. But if a mad woman partaking of her morning meal is your thing - who is to tell you not to? I think it's more a case of what look you're going for...and then going for that. And if your final position is that you're going for NO 'certain look' - cram 'em on and go with that and more power to you!

Above all else, jewelry exists for one reason and one reason alone - to give you pleasure. Do that. :))

By the way, it seems there are rings with shanks that are ajustable, the lower half of the ring is on a joint and opens up at the back and can be extended.

Oops -- Let's try this again. All pics were take inside.
Pics 1& 2 are drab - sitting flat on a table.

Pics 3 - 5 look good; the stone was angled to let indirect sun from window behind me, light it up.
