Thanks to everyone who responded to previous posts concerning choosing an ACA stone from WF. The one I selected is a wonderful ACA 1.55 G SI1. I called WF yesterday morning to inform them I wanted this stone, and they overnighted it to my chosen appraiser, David Atlas. Mr. Atlas has already looked at it and sent his report to me. Whew!
I am leaning towards the WF tiffany reproduction setting (AKA classic tiffany) and have likely read every post on this board regarding this setting. It seems that there was a redesign of this ring a couple of years ago. I have also read about one poster''s customization of this setting (ElaineH) and how several other posters have asked for her modifications as well.
QUESTION: Is the "ElaineH" inspired/modified setting now one and the same as the one currently offered on the WF website??
I did mention this issue to my WF rep and he said at one point they had offered a V-prong version of the setting as well as the more swoopy U-prong current version. Was the V-prong version the "old" version, or were there actually 3 versions at one point???
Finally, I read about one poster asking that the stone be set as low as possible into the setting. Isn''t this considered a low setting to begin with? Would it make it more similar to the "real" Tiffany and co setting to have it set lower?
Sorry for the tedious questions. Thank you so much!
