I am thinking about purchasing a Rad. Cut Diamond from Diamonds on Fifth. Has anyone used them before? Here are the proportions on the diamond
pro: 6.22*5.42*4.03
Depth/table 74.4/70
VVS2
E
GIA CERT.
THIN - THICK GIRDLE.
I am uncertain about cut grade.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

hi

it is funny that you should mention diamonds on fifth. my husband and i are currently looking to purchase a new wedding set for myself. i am currently in talks with michael about some design options. although we have not made a purchase as of yet - i am still trying to figure out the setting etc - michael has been nothing short of wonderful. he has always responded quickly to all of my e-mails and has answered all my questions thus far.

although i thiought that perhaps he was out of my price range, he is after all on fifth ave, he has such a range of prices and all of his pieces are so beautiful. so i think that you will enjoy working with him

i actually have a question for you: do you think that the radiant cut has more fire than the round brillant? for my new set i originally thought of just getting a round. but then i saw pictures of the radiants and they seem so beautiful, funky but still classic if that makes any sense. let me know what you think

Well my soon to be fiance` liked the princess cut, but it would not look good in the particular setting because it was designed for a round. She liked the square cuts. A radiant was in between a princess and an emerald. They are beautiful but we never looked at rounds. Sorry I can't answer your question.

Radiants will not be ultimately as firey as an ideal cut round, purely based on the symmetry that can be achieved with round. I got my fiancee a radiant and we love the way it sizzles, especially in lower light conditions. It throws off wonderfully brilliant shots of white light with some reds, blues greens. It looks especially great in natural sunlight. For some reason the pics won't post right now, but I posted them in the show me the ring forum under a thread called FinallY! O.58 ct, F, VS1 in a plat setting.
