Introducing SweetPea, a baby jumping spider who hangs out on the hood of my car. I want to make friends so I can convince it that there are better places in the garage for spiders to chill. This morning I stunned a fly for SweetPea's lunch. It has been sucking the juices out for an hour and a half. It has also doubled in size since last week when it was as big as this o.

I love jumping spiders, they are so cool.
Those big eyes!

I had no idea people kept them as pets until spider groups started showing up in my FB feed for some reason. SweetPea isn't a pet, it'll live its natural life where ever it chooses but I'm going to have fun watching it grow and feeding it the occasional fly.

Blanche being her usual saucy self:

(Yes the tags are still attached to my chairs. Yes, Blanche has chewed on all of the chairs. No, I do not plan to remember to cut off the tags anytime soon.)

I could never get mad at her. She's just too cute. Leave the tags, maybe she will start chewing those instead of the chairs!

The kittens are grown. Archie (10 months) and Gigi (1 year) are fun to have around. Archie is a typical wild orange boy. He is often found annoying his older sister. They are Balinese. IMG_0269.jpegIMG_0615.jpegIMG_0614.jpeg

so in the autumn our outside Sox (The one the SPCA would not take) came inside -she was always allowed inside but the late Borris didnt like her
anyway she came in one wet cold week and has bearly gone back outside since enjoying life inside in the safe and warm
except now its getting hot
she really likes the vita pet cat milk, she is old and skinny so i give her what she wants
when i was at work on tuesday she finally got it through to Gary she wanted a drink of her cat milk

dang -i had left the bottle on the bench
to his credit Gary opened a new bottle and put both opened bottles back in the fridge
except i got them muddeled ... and its quite expensive and i didnt want to waste it if it was still ok

hmmm
only one way to tell if its still ok
yip
i took a swig
the things we do for love

it was really sweet and very creamy
......im not planning on putting it in my coffee or in Gary's tea

I don’t think I shared on here last year that our beloved ‘Donut’ passed away at 8 yrs of age due to pancreatitis. We were completely beyond heartbroken losing our gal & miss her so very much!

Then, in May, hubs said he wanted us getting a puppy … enter ‘Duke’, a labradoodle from an “oops” litter my vet told us about (the parents are also clients of hers). His mom is a purebred chocolate lab & dad is a multi-gen labradoodle. He was born in March 2024 so is now 7 months young … and he LOVES to swim. We’d so looked forward to Donut getting to swim in our pool, so it was bittersweet when it was finally completed in February, just a couple months after she passed.

Nugget is still with us & even though she’s more senior now at 12 years old, she’s tolerating the young pup okay … though she does have a few Clint Eastwood “Get off my lawn” type moments with him. LOL

Duke is adorable. I'm sorry that you lost Donut at such a young age. it is so hard to lose a loved pet/member of the family. Hopefully Duke fills a void for you and also for Nugget who probably misses Donut as well.

Blanche went to the groomer today.

Minor annoyance: I have a neighbor who has a male, unfixed little poodle/doodle/something mix. I swear she watches for me because the last two times I’ve brought Blanche home from the groomer, this woman and her dog suddenly appear and her dog starts humping and salivating all over Blanche. It’s infuriating. I asked her to control the dog but she laughs and thinks it’s hilarious. So now I have to zip in and zip out hoping she doesn’t see me. Today it worked, but ugh! She’s been in trouble with the HOA board for letting the dog run all over the golf course off leash as well. She thinks that’s ridiculous, and that he isn’t hurting anything. *facepalm* Some dog owners…should not be dog owners.

Thank you @monarch64. Miss Blanche could brighten any day!

Every neighborhood has one pain the neck. Your’s sounds like a piece of work!

Blanche is such a doll.

Does your HOA have a fine that is imposed for people who don't follow the leash law? Or can your town's animal control officer enforce the leash law with a fine? Maybe she will get the hint then. And I agree, some people should not have pets.

Thank you!

She has the dog on a leash while walking him around the neighborhood, but it’s a retractable one that’s about 20 feet long. The dog is supposed to be leashed with a 5-6 foot static leash. That can be navigated; I can tell she cares about the dog and he seems to be treated very well. The issue is when she allows him loose onto the course. She says he only goes to a wooded area, but the complaints from golfers are that he’s all over the course.

It’s not even the HOA’s problem. The golf course is private and belongs to the paying members of the adjacent country club. She’s not a member therefore feigns ignorance. She knows that I’m a member but seems to think the rules don’t apply to her, even when I’ve explained them. There is always that one person, and she’s it.

Yeah, you're right. there's always one person who thinks that rules don't apply to them or can get away with things. Can the the CC do something like stop her while she's letting him in the woods or the rough? I think I'd just pick him up while he was on the course, take her to him and say "he can't be on the course without his clubs".....
