This was supposed to be one project but suddenly its two! I started with 15 square burmese red spinel from Desert Rose Gems. I think I have had these for years and they keep getting pushed lower in the project line. I decided it was time to start and asked my local custom jeweler to find me a matching center red spinel. I saw a couple I did not like and ended up ordering two tiny rounds from Desert Rose in the meantime. When they arrived I thought they were more fuchsia than the squares. I loved the latest batch of "large" spinels from my jeweler - one is a perfect match for the 15 tiny squares and one is a perfect match for the two tiny rounds. Oops! So we started two new projects! I NEVER expected to pick a trillion but the color was too good to pass up!

The fuchsia spinel ring with be a vertical setting with white diamonds in white gold and rose gold! Colors inspire by this incredible David Klass Ring.

The red spinel ring will be yellow gold with white diamonds.

Just sketches for now but I love my jewelers drawings! B32B0C2C-82D6-47B4-9F02-DEF509B5B817.JPGIMG_4315.PNGIMG_4300.jpgIMG_4297.jpgIMG_4319.jpgFF95C621-8069-4596-9A40-C55FAE884473.JPG

Seems to always happen that way, eh?

I'm waiting excitedly to see how this project develops. Love the drawings, too!

Some exciting projects in the pipes for you!! :appl: I'm particularly looking forward to seeing the trillion come to life. Congrats and good luck!!

Two different options of white diamond sizes. Which proportions do you prefer?

I'm a "more is better" person, so my immediate choice was #1. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't like the proportions of #2. It sort of makes the center stone pop a bit more. I think either would work, so perhaps it's just a matter of personal preference. (However, when in doubt, go bigger.

How are the stones being set? Might affect visual size.

I'd go with option 2, with the smaller diamonds--draws more attention to your center stone. I can't wait to see how it turns out!

This was my jewelers suggestion as well.

I want to use all 15 of my mini square spinels so he is going to frame it up again with a second round of halo (after Christmas, when he is less busy!)

I am a more is more person myself!
