Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated. He is in his mid-fifties and retiring from Corporate America. Our company will be giving him a nice gift - but I want to give him something as well, since he was often my lunch buddy for the past few years. Budget of about $50. Anyone have any ideas? Men are so hard to buy for.

How about a nice pen or some cuff-links? I love cuff-links! It would be really nice if you could get his initials engraved on them, but that might put you over budget. Ties are nice, but I am sure he has plenty of those.

ETA: Do you know what his hobbies are? Since he's retiring something that applies to one those would be great. E.g. A gift certificate to a sports store if he likes a certain sport!

Thanks, Sarah - those are great ideas. He likes to golf, so maybe I''ll look for something golf related. Thanks again.

That sounds great! No problem. :)
