Ring Box is done

I'm so proud of myself! I made this all by myself and I am not the best crafter by any means. It took about 9x longer than it should have and I left out one element because I couldn't figure out how to do it

The SO and I love vintage suitcases, we have a small collection. We've been on the lookout for a grey plaid one. I decided this would be a perfect ring box.

I took measurements from one ours and scaled it down. And voila! I'm so happy The only thing I couldn't figure out how to do was make a little pouch on the top with the scrunched up elastic band. Oh well. Plus I didn't want to haul out the sewing machine and we don't have any sort of power tools except for a drill so all the wood was cut by hand (that's a PITA). I used gorilla glue and a whole, yes a whole, tube of super glue.

Plus I learned the ring should be here today!!! Squeeeeeeeee. The ring in the picture is mine just to see how it would hold a ring.

I think it's better that you didn't do the elastic pouch thing. Could you imagine if the ring snagged on it when she went to open the box? That wouldn't be good!

It's from IKEA, so I'm guessing a laminate. I would use lighter fluid, but that smells bad. I'll try the goof off, thanks Bean, that stuff is pure magic

The box doesn't smell like glue, but I'll definitely put a splash of cologn on it, great idea

Sorry Davi! I didn't realize you have a SO and not a GF. Pardon my faux pas. My sentiments are no different - love the box! I just saw the ring on your new thread - WOW!!!
