I'm so very sorry. I just did this Christmas Eve with my almost 16 year old boy. It's awful. I think I will probably forever hate Christmas now.

I am glad you got to do the in home experience. We had our appointment and didn't make it- he seized at home for around 5 minutes and unfortunately lived through it. We spent Christmas Eve at Blue Pearl and end up euthanizing there. It's horrible no matter what, but I'm so glad you got to say goodbye at home, that she was peaceful and you were able to make it as painless as possible. Sending digital hugs to you. It's a horrible feeling and I'm sure you miss her so much.

My precious maltese girl passed away peacefully at home yesterday. She turned 13 in early october. She had a long and wonderful life, and I will miss her so much.

She was the grumpiest old lady, and I think she's currently over the rainbow bridge happily shouting at other dogs, "GET OFF MY LAWN" while laying on a cozy bed.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I hate that so many of us seem to be going through this at the same time. Your sweet girl was so beautiful! She had such a cute and happy face, even if it hid a grumpy old lady inside. She looks like she was full of character and I'm sorry you had to say goodbye. Sending big hugs your way.

I saw you had a home service come in and I will second you in saying that it's a much more peaceful way to say goodbye. We did that for one of my cats, as she hated the vets office and I didn't want that to be her last memory. I love that you gave her a wonderful last meal. I bet she was thrilled to be eating all those delicious, forbidden foods.

I am so sorry for your loss. At my age, I have lost a lot of best friends, so I do understand how you hurt. I hope you will get another soon. I can tell you the pain is always horrid, but living without a dog is not something I would ever choose to do on purpose.
