Royal blue sapphire hunt

Don't be embarassed! Your good deed actually inspired me to do the same...see one good turn and all. And why shouldn't you feel good about helping others?

Doesn't have to be a HUGE amount, when every dollar counts, even $10 a person will help immensely!

Omg. That's the sweetest thing ever! I never did any crowd funding for myself before or anything even when my electricity got cut off for not being able to pay for it was j was so sick with cancer I was at the hospital for 3 months. Thank goodness for friends. I missed my mom so so much right then. She passed away when I was about 9. All I can think of is how much I wanted my mom. Anyways Enough sadness. I'm so she's watching down on all you beautiful strangers being SO KIND to me! Love you guys!!:love:

I can't get over it. Look at these rings by him. I am obsessed..I will probably never be able to afford his work. But I sent him an email a few days ago and no reply Sigh. I'm never looking for a hand out but I would wait and save I think just to get what he can do Screenshot_20180604-161151_Instagram.jpg

Impatience thy name is @Angelwk.

Victor Canera was probably at JCK this weekend and it does take time to get through e-mails on a Monday morning! Have a little patience, and he will be get back to you. I imagine that many people are still catching up.

I'm not sure if you're posting victor's work as admiration or if these are some of the new settings that you are considering. But it seems that you've gone slightly all over the place...while you are waiting to hear back, might I suggest going to a nearby mall/jewelry district and trying out a bunch of different rings to see if you could narrow down what you're looking for?

@Bron357, I'm curious to hear if Ivy and Rose got back to you regarding the setting yet!

Omg I'm the most impatient little monster ! Yeah I was just posing his stuff out of like awe lol. But I'm pretty positive what I want now for sure

Screenshot_20180606-145304_Chrome.jpg Screenshot_20180606-145312_Chrome.jpg what do you ladies think about this setting for light? Screenshot_20180606-145255_Chrome.jpg

Screenshot_20180604-051851_Instagram.jpg Screenshot_20180606-155720_Chrome.jpg so I've narrowed it down to these 3. What do you ladies think? ???

@metall I agree. Or the original one I liked, remember the champagne coloured one?

Between the champagne colored one and this one, I like this one for the octagon setting. It has more presence in my personal opinion. But that could be because it is a round stone. I would look to see how an oval stone like yours would affect the overall look.

1 & 3 are classic evergreens t hat I think you'd never tire of.

Number 2 is something that could grow on you too. But there's something about t he halo proportions that don't go down so well on me. Maybe if they were slightly bigger in proportion to the CS?

My vote is for number 3. Especially with your stone. It’s got a soft, rounded micropave edge which would frame it nicely with enough sparkle, without competing with the main stone. It also looks to me as though it would be well protected and secure in that setting. Just my 2cents!

I think 3 would be the best fit. It's actually got diamonds underneath on the prongs too. But I'm not eliminate that to keep the cost down. I'll show you guys the other angles of this setting

So what do you guys think?? I need a response. I'm too excited. I can't believe this is actually happening I woke up the other day and I was convinced I dreamnt the entire thing happening from @Bron357 s beautiful sapphire to me now deciding a setting, and you other wonderful ladies chipping in on the cost. I honestly thought it was just a dream. Nothing like this has ever happened to me. It's made me so emotional. I feel like my mom is watching over me
:cry2::saint:

That IS so exciting, @Angelwk !

I think it’s lovely and would work nicely with the stone. Keep in mind that the follOwing impressions are just personal taste. If you see a setting which you love, go with it regardless of what anyone else may think!

The only detail which gets to me a little is the metal edge/lip of the bottom rim of the micropave halo. In example 1, there is a more harmonious transition IMO, but the architecture of that is significantly different because the shoulders slope up towards the halo. I still prefer example 3, especially for your stone because it’s a bit more luscious, which suits the glorious sapphire.

If the edge in example 3 were a tad more rounded, so as not to create a visual barrier between the halo and the bottom, it would be perfect! As it is, I like how the stone seems to hover above which keeps a robust setting looking light. it were more rounded under, or with small melee on a perpendicular angle around that edge, or just reduced so that minimal metal is seen, it would be fabulous because I think it would carry out the slightly rounded, soft look more completely.

Haha you're much more detailed than I am for sure! I am so new to this I have no idea I've been leaning on @Bron357 for most of it. Since it is our creation together. She's my new auntie and I adore her

I think they are all lovely.
I think the modest halo with diamond shoulders will be the best showcase for Light.
I’m not a fan of diamond set prongs because in my mind it’s a big extra expense for something you and no one else will be able to see and appreciate.
I’m also a little wary of just a small donut being the only connection to the band. Just a few weeks ago a member posted about her ring head literally “snapping off”. It was a similiar design, just a small donut connecting.
Light is big and deep, she will be sitting 1 cm up off a size 4 finger so I just think the the head will be too big and heavy not to have shoulder supports. So rather than diamond set claws under the sapphire, plain gold but add to fine sweeping shoulders up from the band to the halo. These you will see. I think it will also help weight distribution wise to keep the ring head in the centre of the ring. I’m thinking otherwise it might just keep “flopping” off to the side.
And If you go for a bigger donut support on the ring band, you end up with the problem of needing a curved wedding band if you want a wedding band to sit flush.
So all these things to consider.
Still very exciting xxxxx Aunty B

Yeah I emailed David and I basically showed him the ones that we decided would be most suitable. And told him whatever he needs to do to keep the price down. So any unnecessary diamonds for example. But I trust his taste. So he has a good idea of we want and the freedom to make adjustments so we don't break the bank. I'm not sure a little worried about the cost because I told him I'm not looking for a free ride or anything but I also didn't expect the yellow sapphire miracle which is light. So I'll keep you all postednon the progress of light getting her setting ;))
I've been so excited about this I've not had a lot of sleep recently. I can't remember the last time I ease so excited about something that I can't sleep haha:snore:

Hey ladies

I just got off the phone with David and Amy. They are honestly the sweetest people ever. We discussed the setting I want and I am so so so happy this is happening. Amy says she will do whatever she can to keep the price down and still give me everything I am looking for. I didn't have to pick something he's already done. They are more than willing to make me something special and take care of it from their end. She is making me drawings and designs of what I want and I am SO HAPPY!! ! this is like a fairytale dream come true the only other time I felt this way was when I met my husband..everything is just working out perfectly and they are so so kind. She understands everything I'm looking for and is happy to make a special design just for me
I can not believe this is happening. I told her I need to keep the cost down and she told me no problem They will use smaller diamonds if must be but they will take care of it. I got off the phone and cried. Never have I experienced such kindness from strangers and my heart is full. Thank you ladies rk for everything. For your support..thank you @Bron357 for giving me an unbelievable gift. Thank you for you other ladies for chipping in on the cost or the setting when I'm not doing well financially. You have no idea how much this means to me. This came at a time in my life where I really needed it. May is always hard because it's mother's day and it makes me sad every year. But thank goodness now it's June and it's my bday MONTH! I am beyond happy this is happening and I promise I will pay it forward. I will never forget strangers kindness. I love you all and thank you for making me the happiest girl in the world and this the best birthday ever

you guys im impatient! can't wait until light is done!!
