Madeleine is now in new york and later she will travel to seattle

The poor Princess...Imagine how she would feel at her sister''s wedding with her brother at her side insted of the handsome lawyer. At least they understood that he''s a cheater before a date for the wedding was set (or maybe that''s the reason?).
Hope Madeleine will recover soon and that ''scandal'' won''t affect Jonas'' career in a negative way.

Going back to the birthday celebrations of Margrethe II - I just found a photo of her niece Princess Natalie from the Frederiksborg Palace party. The Princess'' wearing her mother''s floral tiara, diamond and turquoise earrings and a stomacher as pendant on a two row choker. Quite graceful looking for a horse rider I must say (no offences, I''m a rider too):

It's a pear-shaped aquamarine (I hope it's real). There are matching earrings too. The pendant Victoria wore is a large prong set diamond.

Maybe you mean this one? Well, I belive it''s only the light that makes it look like aquas. I''ve seen other photos of the same brooch and all stones look like diamonds to me.

Which Alexanda are talking about? The two Alexandras I can think of are Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg and Princess Alexandra of SWB but neither of them attended the birthday celebrations. Maybe you mean Nathalie of SWB, Princess Benedikte's younger daughter?

Mary and Marie as well as their husbands and aunt Benedikte attended last night's banquet. Mary wore a dark blue dress and her wedding tiara; Marie - red dress and wedding tiara and Benedikte - linght purple dress, pearl spike and star tiara and diamond necklace. You can see them on the seventh photo on the website I linked (the link).

Well, my opinion has changed a bit at second glimpse.
Before the tiara had a headband look and now I think it has a more kokoshnik-like look and stands more upright, giving it a more substantial and heavier look. What I like more in the previous version is that we could see the indidvidual leafs/motifs clearly against CP Mary's dark hair. I also liked the single leaf on top of the center more. I think it gave the tiara a more unique look.
Having said that, I still like both versions of the ruby tiara, but preffer Queen Ingrid's.

About the base - This is the kind of tiara where you can't hide the entire base. Maybe if they cover the upper wire with brown velvet again it won't be so visible, but hiding the entire base would mean to hide part of the leafs.

ETA - I think it was going to look better if only the side elements were removed and the rest was put more upringht (as it's now).
