Thank you for the photos, Josefine, but you didn't give any particulars on "the wedding in Sweden". For the record, Sweden's Prince Carl Philip and Sofia Hellqvist were married on June 13, 2015 in the Chapel of the Royal Palace in Stockholm. The former Sofia Hellqvist will now be known as HRH Princess Sofia, Duchess of Värmland.

Thank you for the beautiful photos of the tiara, Josefine. I had not seen the emeralds in the other photos of Princess Sofia and did not know that the tiara was not simply a diamond tiara. I like it very much. The princess seems to have "a past", as the saying goes. Apparently the king and queen were not initially happy with their son's choice of a bride. I have seen her described as a former "topless model". I am not sure what, exactly, she was supposed to have modeled, though. ;)) I think she is quite beautiful. I particularly love the photos of her in blue at her pre-wedding dinner.

I love Buccellati! I never even noticed Princess Madeleine was wearing a bracelet until you showed this picture, however. I will search. If you find an answer or more photos, please post them. I so much wish I could afford a Buccellati bracelet myself. I do own one pair of Buccellati earrings. But, alas, I am just a poor hanger-on, not a princess!!!

My first post here, been a lurker for years and have enjoyed reading through ALL of the posts!

I saw this photo of Queen Elizabeth recently and don't remember having seen this particular tiara before. Anyone have any info on it? Thanks!

Do you know what year it was taken? It looks as if she was still quite young and was probably still "just" HRH Princess Elizabeth, without access to the queen's tiaras or yet having a married woman's status. The simple strand of pearls leads me to think that we should be thinking about tiaras worn by young women. But I am no expert. I really miss Bobby.

Well, I am happy to say that after doing a lot of research, I have an answer for you, lilbiteb. The tiara is not real. (And, at first glance, one must admit, it really does not appear real in that photo!) The Princess Elizabeth was wearing it for a costume drama that she and her younger sister, The Princess Margaret, were enacting as children. (I believe that the Princess Elizabeth was 15.)

Here is a link to article which I finally tracked down by dint of chasing that photo all over the Internet!

I may post some other photos below when I have a little more time. I found a lot of pictures of the young princess while I was poking around.

I hope it's allowed to post a link to a video, because here is Queen Elizabeth II wearing a diamond and ruby set that I have not seen before in pictures. Also, notice the diamond brooch pinned to her back right shoulder holding down her sash. This was during her recent visit to Germany:

Does anyone know the maker of the Countess of Wessex's diamond bracelet at the Monaco wedding celebrations? I think it might be Asprey, although I'm not sure.

More or less along the lines of royal jewels, the Miss Universe pageant was held this weekend. They have a new jewel sponsor which means a new crown. See here for pictures...

Personally, I loathe it. I think it looks like a cheap New Year's Eve trinket.

I agree, LadyMaria. It's really ugly. When I read about the materials with which it was constructed, I was surprised that any precious stones were used, however. It never occurred to me that any were used in beauty pageant crowns. (Why would any be?)

Why would anyone mix diamonds with leather and crystal?

Deb/AGBF

I kind of like it, but I freely admit that I have poor taste. It's only the case that is leather. I like the blue topaz, and there's only a small smattering of genuine diamonds. I think it's gloriously tacky and perfectly suited to the event.

I bought my mom a Hello magazine a few months ago and was blown away by the pictures of Duchess Roxburghe's pear engagement ring. I have a thing for old cut pears, so this beauty really does something for me. I'm rarely on this particular forum, but I just had to share. Sorry if this has been posted before.
