I hope so
As a major tiara event like it used to be
Hopefully his first one as King anyway may-05-1979-state-opening-of-parliament-today-hm-the-queen-performed-E11P28.jpg

The only time I have seen Charles wear a crown was when he became Prince of Whales. Why don‘t the royal men wear crowns like their wives do at formal royal and state events?

Phew !

I must admit having avoided all the proms and circumstances in 2012 with the London Olympics and Diamond Jubilee (I went camping on both occasions), I am doing the same for the double Bank Holiday weekend in June 2022 by going camping in an adult-only site for some peace and quiet.

I shall celebrate this momentous event in my own little ways (ordered new buntings, a couple of special coins and going to this exhibition at Buck House) - no doubt I shall raise a glass or two in her name while I am camping.

DK :))

That actually sounds pretty good

The opening ceromony of the London Olympics was pretty darn great
when 007 went to see the real HM it was mind blowing (i mean we knew she didn't jump out of the helicopter but it sure was an unforgettable bit of telly

Gary went hunting with his brother when Wills and Kate got married
Me and Tinky haf a great night on our own
The wife of a friend of Gary's rang our house by mistake and we had a great time watching it together- i drunk 2 whole bottles of bubbles on my own

I have just booked a trip to Windsor Castle too.

I have never been there all these years, and can drive there for just over an hour - it is time to pay a visit.

DK :))

I hope in years to come this is how we remember our elderly Queen

Don’t worry @dk168, despite living on the doorstep of Windsor Castle for 20 years+, the first time we visited was only a few years ago, when American friends of ours came over, and we took them there

We visited Buck House a few years back, when they had an exhibition of some of the Queen’s special treasures, including the fabulously mismatched huge pear drop diamond earrings. Are they still doing the combined ticket for the carriage museum and Da Vinci drawings?

Don't know about the combined ticket, sorry!

I went to Buck House in 2012 for the Diamond Jubilee exhibition, and it was fabulous.

One of the highlights was the pink diamond flower brooch as it is ginormous in person!!!

I'm looking forward to tonight's State Banquet, where we should see serious glitter from both ladies!

The Swedish royals are busy welcoming foreign guests, too. The President and First Lady of Finland arrived today for 2-day State Visit. They were welcomed by the King and Queen and were joined by the Crown Princess- and Price family at the Palace in Stockholm.

Her Majesty wore a rarely seen pair of cab emerald and diamond studs with matching ring for the carriage ride. Once inside she took off the warm wrap and her modern emerald brooch + twisted pearl necklace were revealed.

Crown Princess Victoria wore earrings from Kreuger Jewellery, while her Dream Brooch comes from Kalevala Jewellery and is 'sustainably handmade in Finland'.

Prince CarlPhilip and Princess Sofia were also present.

As usual with the Bernadottes, we can expect a lot of glitter tonight :kiss2:

Last week the Norwegians hosted the athletes from the 2022 Winter Olympics for a fancy dinner at the Royal Palace in Oslo. Tiaras were not worn, but there were some nice jewels on display nonetheless.

I wish we could see more of Princess Astrid's gold jewels and (opal) charm. She was is wheelchair due to a broken leg. :/
