I really liked these in concept, but I have to say I think they would have looked better in yellow metal. Because, yanno, they need my opinion.

I wore that same dress to the prom in 1988.

I went to the prom in 1982, and my dress was a duplicate of Diana's wedding dress, a big poofy affair, only in peach. The flouncy layers kept my date at bay!

Thank you for the treasure trove of pictures from the coronation, @Daisys and Diamonds ! I love seeing everything everyone wore and seeing everyone who attended.

(I totally saw the Star Wars similarities during the ceremony, too!!) I loved it! (I also thought Louis looked like a little Luke Skywalker in Luke's black ensemble.)

My junior year I channeled Glenda the Good Witch. So much peach tulle I could hardly get it all inside my Pontiac Fiero.

We were riding in the back seat of a Cutlass, and he was confused by all the crinolines. So I didn't have to fend him off for once!

I was 9 y.o. when King Charles III and Princess Diana got married: I watched the whole ceremony and I kept telling myself I'll never ever wear a wedding dress like hers (I kept the promise to myself!!!).
Funny fact: three or four months later, my eldest cousin got married; her wedding dress was a copy of Princess Diana's one but my cousin wasn't Diana look alike, my cousin was 150 cm and 90 kg...my aunt and my uncle were very proud of her dress and told everyone that it was very very expensive (they were farmers and at the time they could have bought 3 fields with such a sum of money)... I was very very impressed!

my 'formal' was 1988
i wore an emerald green drop waste dress that had a 3 tiered ra-ra skirt in a fabric called crushed ice
mum insisted it ahd capped sleeves which i hated
i also had a little jacket with a Chinnese collar because it was just before mid-term break in july
white panyhose with tiny pokadots on
my date had been grounded so i had to go with a friend of a friend
my eye shadow was orange and green
white court shoes and a little white bag
the 80s were fun

it is really good seeing HRH out and about again after the long covid complications
