Unfortunately, the remains of the once charming diamond comb, an heirloom of the Orleans family, will be sold together with a number of items from the collection of the late Micaela, Countess of Paris.

The comb dates back to Princess Françoise of Bragança, who in 1843 marries the 3rd son of Louis Philippe and became Prince of Joinville. It was left to her daughter the Duchess of Chartres and in was inherited in 1925 by her own grandson Prince Henri. Prince Henri was the grandfather of the current head of the Orleans dynasty and Princess Micaela was his step-mother.

The comb was used as a bridal jewel in the family - both Princesses Isabelle and Anne wore it at their weddings in the 1960's and much later Micaela wore the altered version as a necklace/pendant. It was one of the last remaining jewels in the main line.

We now know that the central diamond has been replaced by a tourmaline, not an emerald. The estimate is low, but not unexpected considering how heavily modified the piece is

That’s really sad @prince.of.preslav Years ago when we went to an auction viewing at Sotheby’s in London, there were lots of tiaras, and what would be considered ‘unfashionable’ pieces up for sale. It broke my heart to think dealers would be buying them to disassemble them for the diamonds and other stones, and making modern pieces out of them.

Spanish royals last week headed to Marivent Palace in Palma de Mallorca,

to attend a dinner for local authorities

a bit hard to see the bling but if Queen Sofia was there then there was bling !!

We have seen most of the jewels in the photos worn fairly recently - Charles III in the crown, Camilla in the necklace and Catherine with the wedding gift bracelet.
We haven't seen the two evening watches yet and I doubt the earrings will be seen out and about any time soon, since HM's earrings aren't pierced.

Princess Leonor has arrived to start three years of military training after leaving a prestigious private school in South Wales.

The 17-year-old heir to the Spanish throne arrived at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza this morning, alongside her parents and sister, where she will be assigned to the Cadet Battalion.

this is the first time in my entire life i have ever critized any of the senior royals ( excluding H&M of course) ( i took no side with Charlies and DI)

i have always been 100% loyal to our head of state and their consorts

The Spanish Queen and Princess Sofia are going to be there, HM bearly wears a sparkly earring due to the cost of living crisis, she wears clothes even i could afford but she is coming to support their team
i dont even like soccer but this is the final of the world cup< Prince William is the president of the FA
