Rubellite price increase??

Does anyone have any information about the current price and demand for rubellite? I read an article online at a website called minesandcommunities.org that the price of rubellite has increased by five since June ''05 b/c high Chinese demand.
I haven''t noticed much difference in pricing online.

All red color gemstones are popular. I have noticed a general up swing in prices but not anything near 5 fold.

Well with the decrease in production in Nigeria and other Rubellite producing countries I can see how the price would increase. Even in developing countries the production will always become more difficult because the deposits move from suface to underground and the cost of mining greatly increases the deeper you go. Also, there are factors like the demand from the Chinese market and the boom in the American market for Rubellite.
