Sigh, again.
I have so been looking forward to receiving back my ruby and diamond ring.
It started off being a reuse situation so as to be cost effective or so I thought but $500 later I wasn’t happy. The “negative space” just screamed at me.
Back I went and 3 weeks later, today, with high hopes went to collect.
Ugh, the added diamonds are too midgy. Somehow my vision didn’t convert into understanding and to be more “cost effective” diamonds the size of a pin head were used.
So another $460 into the ring and it’s not what I want.
Sigh, I debated whether it was worth upgrading the 1.5mm diamonds to 2.5mm diamonds (maybe just $200 if the existing prongs can be reworked or $450 odd if new settings needed) OR spending another $800 - $1,000 to re do the setting for the ruby ie elevate it so as to put 4mm diamonds in.
I ummed and Ahhhhed for 15 minutes and decided no, try again. I left it with the jeweller, he will speak to the bench and see what can be done to maximise diamond size without excessive work ie $$$.
Ist attempt.
Fingers crossed

All I see is the ruby.

Same and like it. I have a daisy ring with larger diamonds and small center ruby and it bothers me. The ruby is the star of the show.
