I am looking for an antique style sapphire and white gold ring.
It is a gift from my mother for my 30th bday and to wear as a right hand ring. it will match the style of my ering.
I have been randomly googling and trying to find what I am looking for.
Any suggestions for good sites when searching for antique/estate jewelry. I could find something new but I am in love with the old stuff!
Thank you!

You didn't list a budget so I thought I'd throw this one up. I've tried it on and didn't ever want to take it off.

If you are looking for something thinner, or more affordable Pearlmans carries Beverly K. Go to the site below, click on collections, then Beverly K collection. There are a lot of sapphire bands listed under wide bands and narrow bands. That's what I'd buy. Good quality, nice designs, and affordable.

look at newyorkestatejewelry.com

I have had excellent luck with ebay, though it does take some searching, and you have to read the sellers' return policies and feedback carefully.

I just bought this deco platinum sapphire-and-diamond ring on ebay for $250. The quality is superb:

Last year, also on ebay, I bought this mid-Victorian sapphire cabochon ring with a halo of rose-cut diamonds for $300 (shown here with my Edwardian demantoid garnet ring):

(The sapphires in both rings are somewhat darker in person than in these photos. More photos on these threads:

The trick is to be patient; bid once, as high as you're willing to go, at the very last minute; and avoid sellers with red flags, like negative or withdrawn feedback or lots of identical items that they claim are antique but are actually new and mass produced. The best deals come from individuals who are selling only a few pieces (though I sometimes worry those sellers are thieves fencing their loot); from sellers with a long track record who specialize in another area and just happen to be selling a few pieces of jewelry (that was the case with my Victorian cab sapph ring); and from pawn-shop-type sellers or big estate jewelers who are looking to turn over lots of stuff fast rather than maximize their profit on individual pieces (that was the case with my platinum deco ring).

PS: I forgot to say: Happy birthday!!

Thank you for the answers! You guys are way better than google. (and even know my bday, thanks!)

i have looked at ebay but am a little scarEd to bid! so its good to know you were so happy with your ring.

This is Fay Cullen and I''ve heard she has a terrible return policy but I''ve always just LOVED this ring. I don''t even know that it qualifies but I really wanted to post it anyway, since I won''t be buying it anytime soon:)
