OH MY GOD!

this setting was MY 2nd choice.... in a 1.3 asscher. Actually, the FI LOVED it, and it was too delicate for my taste... But please calm those concerns, it was beautiful! And not too far off from those photoshops. Also, I tried it with slightly smaller stones, with a space, and exactly meeting... and I tended towards the tiny space... but that is all personal preference.

BTW- It was at New York Jewelers in Chicago on Wabash (yeah, I know, that''s funny!)
kshmid-- If you don''t mind my asking -- are saying the single shank picture on THIS page of this post that Irinia photoshopped for me is almost exactly the same as one you saw? Single shank spliting into halo? Or that the original pic on the first page of the post (with the LARGE asscher) is similar? Or the is it the double shank ALSO on this page?

Which one is like the one you saw in person... and do you have any pics???

And what did you wind up with?

THanks, Layla

YIKES!!! I have to say this job is SERIOUSLY cutting into my PS time.

I'm going to have to think about the shanks I'm not sure how I'm feeling about them. And I may re-consider the airline-- because without the airline the diamond is looking rectangular like Cehra mentioned! OY!

Okay well... I've got to go home now. Much as I like spending 14 hours a day here 14 hours IS where I draw the line!

THANK YOU IRINA/LEONID! And everyone who voted on the shanks. And everything else.

If I wasn't so freaking tired I'd stay and chat... but it's only Wednesday and I am already in pain waiting for the weekend.
14 hour days???

Gee, I have to say I know I am in the minority (actually the only one voting for it!), but I sorta like the thinner shank. It makes me look more at the stone itself. I also have to say that I think you cannot go wrong with any of the styles. They are all winners. I don''t envy you your decision - this will take some soul searching!

Hi Layla,
it was the double shank, split into a halo setting for a small diamond- just like photoshopped double shank on page 2.
I don't have any pictures, they didn't allow them, but my memory is very clear, since I visited ring choices 1 and 2 for four days in a row in May. I couldn't decide. We were considering diamonds for that setting that were 1 carat, but that was slightly too small, 1.3ish fit the setting much better.

I ended up with an estate piece instead though- it can be seen at https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/1-2-way-decent-picture-of-my-e-ring.46134/ - you might notice that if you squint at it, it has a similar shape, although it's very different.

kschmid: I LOVE your ring! and it certainly reminds me of the one Gypsy''s considering. In fact I posted a picture of it on another of her threads...I''d forgotten that the sides are sapphires, not "air"...

Yummy!
