Setting for a Princess cut (so confused)

I really love the idea of your birthstones inside the shank, like pandabee said...a little secret of your own. :))

Is it better to have them at the bottom? side? or closer to the top on the inside?

or does having the diamonds on the side mean that it can only really fit at the bottom?

Because of the diamonds down the shank, I would avoid putting the birthstones opposite of them (not even sure if it would be logistically possible). Personally I prefer them to be a little offset, so maybe at 5 o'clock. But I have seen people place them at the 6 o'clock position as well. Whatever you think works for you and your lady!

I would prefer the 5 o'clock look you mention.

Do you think next to each other, or like a 5 oclock and 7 oclock look?

Guess I need to decide whether to go for the 2 there or maybe just one stone at 5 oclock that signifies our anniversary month.

Back to thinking for me, very close now!

Maybe I'll see how they come out in the CAD

Thanks again for the input, helping to clear minor doubts that creep into your head

I think that I would set them side by side, your vendor will be able to give you a better idea of where the best placement will be.

I have a dilemma, I can get the ring by a certain date in time to propose but it would be without the birthstones.

If I wanted to wait a few more days for the birthstones then that will throw out the ideal proposal date and would mean I would have to change it up and do it midweek as the couple of weeks after are busy

If the date is really important just have them put into her wedding band. If its not then hold out

I did it!

And she said yes, ring turned out great, there was the tiniest uneven prong that I noticed from the top view (I inspected heavily!) but they said we can get that fixed whenever she is ready to part with the ring for a few days (which will be a while!) and its very hard to notice it when its on her hand

Thanks for the help everyone, will post pics soon

As mentioned, prongs will be tweaked in a couple of months or so for free so no issues with the slight imperfection :)
