HELP...any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!

My husband gave me a 1 ct emerald cut diamond engagement ring 7+ years ago. I inherited my great grandmother's 3.75 emerald cut diamond last year. With my husband's blessing I promptly had it reset into my current engagement ring setting and made my 1ct into a pendant. My ring setting is the classic platinum with 2 side baguettes. A new head was made to accomodate the larger stone and it was attached to the original shank for sentimental purposes...but as a result of an active lifetyle my stone seems loose. It is a deep stone and therefore high on my hand...should I just have prongs tightened...or will this happen again...do I need a new setting altogether? Any recommendations for a setting for this stone that can be worn daily?

Perhaps a full bezel will be safest for your active lifestyle.
It would be a tragedy to lose that stone due to prong failure.
I think tension settings are also safer than prongs but for such a large diamond it would be quite bulky.

What about this type of setting? I think it would protect your stone a bit better. Can anyone confirm that? Is a bezel setting more secure than a prong setting?

Thanks for the input...I like the setting you suggested....I didn't know this was bezel...I've only seen the round types...unique and beautiful....and would probably protect from chips....THANKS!
