I would do the little one up top e/w, the larger one below n/s and finally... on a third strand, a big fat pear!
So will that be my wedding present?

It''s funny you said that because my earrings (costume) have big fat pears on the ends of them.

Something blue?

You're only 2K posts away from your PS 10k gift- get to it woman!

Lol. Thanks for reminding me.

That pear is BEAUTIFUL. However, I just want it to play with!!!! Gah!!! (Rest assured that if it doesn't go up too much in price...)

Yeah, I bet the color is wahackadoo in person, but the cut looks ok. If you get it, you know what to do! ETA: his stuff seems to go at 1-2 bids. Want me to edit my post?

I love the pear idea! Esp a bright blue pear. If you don''t go for the ebay one, go email Barry now!

I would say prong set - I wouldn''t want too much metal around those beauties

Yes please.

You guys don't think it would look weird to have a E/W little(not really, but you know) white oval, a N/S bigger white oval and then a big fat darker blue pear on bottom, with no other blue except for shoes you can't see?

ETA: What about a swiss....

Hit the quote of mine in yours too.

ETA: nope, but maybe one of us can photoshop it. Don't get too matchy-matchy with the wedding stuff, tempting though it may be. I also doubt that pear is quite as blue in person, something icy would be perfect, but it's hard to find a size that'll balance your large oval.

Got it. So what do you guys think?

I''m gonna go with I love the idea of the blue. Actually I think I''d prefer a swiss overall, but with the shade of your dress, that might be a weird contrast? But if you opt not to wear the blue on your wedding day and just whites, it wouldn''t be an issue anyway.

I''d do them both EW with the smaller one on the shorter chain.

OMG Freke, that is a GORGEOUS dress!! Would you mind sharing the name of the designer? My friend is getting married soon and is interested in something similar to that...maybe in a different color....for a destination wedding. :)

Lovely dress Freke!
Yay for non traditionally colored dresses!

Karee, it''s Badgley Mischka. I got it off of Bluefly not too long ago. Apparently it was made in black, my color and gold. I don''t know if they have any left, but she should check it out.

This is roughly to scale assuming that ribbon is 1.5 in...

WOW...What is the difference between the three stones? Thank you for doing that for me. OMG. I''m in awe of your awesome photoshopping skillz.

I love it with the blue too. I wouldn''t do East West but thats just me ( I might have weird taste or something). Wonder what it would look like with a swiss color? I do like the bright blue though.

I dunno. They symmetry appeals to me I guess.

Now if you did both east West I think that would be cool. I''m not sure about one EW and one NS. But of course in the end you''ll know whats right.

Lol. Throwing this blue idea in is throwing me for a loop, because I hadn''t considered it before...but I''m liking it.

Now I really have no idea what to do...

When do you have to decide by?

I don''t know? I probably need to decide by October at the latest. I have about $225 for one setting already, (which was quoted at being much cheaper when I asked btw) and as merco pointed out, I''m pretty close to my 10k gift...

Wedding isn''t until January 9, 2010, so there is definitely time to think...

A second thought, both ovals e/w with a 10mm pear, either in the middle or bottom. And those are mad ppt skillz, I''m too poor for photoshop.

Ooh I like that with the blue in the middle

Hadn''t thought of that one. Will these be prong set?

I don''t know yet. I was thinking prong set for the big oval because it''s already pretty dang huge. I''m totally open to thoughts and ideas though.

Your original idea, on the right.

Lol. Me too. I have Photoshop 7.0 that I got from a friend. Whatever you''re using, it looks great. 10mm pear huh?
