This Single Stone setting is one of my favorite settings for a pear. I love the detailing on the shank, a little different from the norm.

Pixies, do you by chance have a gallery shot of the SingleStone design? I can't find it on their site.

I think you have to email them for extra pictures. They're pretty quick to respond.

I have been incredibly happy with the custom work I have had done by Jewels by Erica Grace. They bend over backward to make sure the design is exactly as you'd like. They are timely. And the level of service is unequaled in my experience.

If it were me setting that beauty, one of my considerations would be the size of the stone. I would want an amazing showcase, but I would want it delicate and not something that would overwhelm the stone. Think stage lights that showcase a performer.

I love their Kylie (HW style) halo ring. It is the setting you see in my avatar. I can see this stone with a custom halo to fit your stone with a double band that is split to meet the stone near the front and the back. I personally don't like pave split prongs (where they join together on the side) because it requires larger melee where the two splits join. Instead I'd have the two band meet just side by side and go around the bottom of the finger in the same manner. That would also give you a larger area of metal under the band giving you more structural stability. The two bands could be straight or slightly curved to meet each other.

Can you visualize what I'm talking about? I wish I could photoshop well enough to give you a picture.

Thanks Uppy for your suggestion. I can't visualize just what you mean.
If I go CAD, JBEG is certainly a contender. Victor Canera wants to work with me again and I certainly would like a hand forged halo but cost will be a factor. I am going to compare the two.

Thanks Athenaworth.
I will do that Monday. Ari is a pleasure to work with.

I love how the Singlestone halo keeps following the curve of the face of the gemstone. It makes the whole top of the ring look round and pleasing to the eye.

UPDATE!

I sent my Mahenge spinel to Victor Canera. Not sure the exact design yet but it will be a halo :appl:

He's proven to you time and time again to be a great vendor so I think you made the right choice.

What are you doing with that awesome Pad you got?

I will set it at some point but my first priority is the spinel. I will probably do a rose gold halo.

I think I am going to have to get a second job to pay for my new obsession :$$): :cheeky:

Boy do I hear you loud and clear on that one.

I am rethinking a bit here. My decision is bezel vs prongs. I love bezels!

What would you do?

So you are still doing the halo for sure? I vote halo with prongs, all in platinum.

Can't wait to see the finished piece!

For this stone, I can only see prongs. I think it'll look wonderful with prongs. Mind you, it would look good in a Subway wrapper, so you're winning no matter what you do! :twirl:

(eta: you could bezel your pad...?)

I would do prongs, but again, I don't really think you can make a mistake. If you have a hankering for a bezel, I like natsplat's idea of bezeling the pad.

OK, so it's prongs. Halo in all platinum with yellow gold prongs.

Sounds like a really good metal choice! Still haven't come to a decision on the design?

I am letting Victor handle the small details! I trust his judgement :praise:

Here is a sneek peek of the completed fabrication of the setting I just got! It will be ready next week :appl:

The halo and shank will have single cut pave.

This looks gorgeous! Hope to see the pictures soon!

Your pear is gorgeous! I would halo it with some excellent cut, super white melees!

Can't wait to see it!

Did I miss any updates? When will we meet your new beauty?

Victor's bench started setting the spinel on Friday. I bet it ships out today :appl:

Here is a sneak peak at the unfinished piece. It lacks polishing!

Excited to see this brightice!

I can imagine your feelings, let it be a happy, happy day for you. Hopefully we shall see the pictures soon. The ready setting looks much better than his original picture.
