I'll ask Jeff at John Franklin's to build a ring for my wife. I think it's going to end up in a setting like this one but bezel set. What do you think? I am open to ideas.

Who did this setting? John Franklin? It is beautiful.

It is beautiful, and it looks best in the other thread (with the photo of you taking the picture of another stone). This is when it can be seen on the hand, and it looks beautiful.

Very pretty, natsplat! Love the nails too! :)

Aw, thank you :)

I only wish i could capture how it glows at me 90% of the time. I think Barry's cut plus the very open setting really shows the gem off to its best advantage :twirl:

Bumping this thread since it's been awhile, some new green garnets over the past year:

I dont want to thread jack but does anyone here know if there is a "Blue" thread in this forum?
@Bluegemz or anyone else who knows...I did a search but I don't think PS search function is that accurate and I don't want to duplicate a thread. Thanks!

I haven’t seen one, but it’s a wonderful observation and I think it would be great to have one running!

Here is my antique peridot and pearl pin. It was a gift from a close family friend who was an antique dealer and he left it to me in his will. My first memory of any person dying. So sad. He died from HIV related illness before all the meds came into existence that could have saved him. :cry2:

This pin is special to me because he thought of me and wanted me to have it. Peridot is my birthstone.

What a beautiful piece. It has so much tenderness in it with the delicate pearls and the hopeful green. I can feel the sincerity of his gift and the loving intention behind it. Thanks so much for sharing this, Missy. It’s these stories and the meanings that we make which really bring pieces alive. That pin is an ultimate treasure.

Is this green enough to count? I rediscovered this, my dad gifted this to me when I was in my early teens, it doesn’t fit me anymore, not sure what to do with it. I am not sure about value either and I definitely don’t know much about jade.

I have a few green stones. My natural round A jadeite and my full BC nephrite jade ring (WhiCH i love that it is faCeted, more sparkle :). I also have a Colombian emerald. The jades I wear on my left hand and emerald on right for my green outfit days :)
