I am completely in love with BGD's Dream Half Eternity wedding band. However, I am worried about the girdles of the diamonds scratching the basket of my e-ring.

For anyone who has a shared-prong diamond band:
- Do you notice that the girdles scratch the basket of your e-ring??
- Even if it does scratch, is the scratching so bad that it can't be fixed by polishing the metal (my e-ring is platinum)??

I would purchase this band in a heartbeat; however, I'm hesitant because of the scratching. If it was possible to polish out the scratching on a platinum e-ring, then I would be much less hesitant about purchasing. I'm just worried about damaging my e-ring.

Also, is anyone aware of a verrry thin spacer band that I could put in between my e-ring and wedding band to prevent the wedding band from scratching my e-ring?? I'm looking for approximately a 1mm or less platinum band ring that would almost be invisible..lol. ::)

Please help!! Thank you! :twirl:

Here's a thread that discusses scratching: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/eternity-ring-scratching-solitaire-setting.148945/(there are pix of my ring where the prongs of my e-ring have been literally *whittled away* by my w-band - damage that cannot be repaired by polishing.) I know there have been others on here as well.

My 2.2 mm shared prong wband literally carved out my prongs and the basket of my e-ring over 6 years to the point where Tiffany and Co said I should be prepared to send the e-ring back for remounting in the near future. I plan to get a 1mm spacer on etsy to prevent this damage to my upgrade ring, and also plan to wear my new ring on my right hand half the time.
