oooooh, I''m diggin that sleek line with a big stone! It makes the stone look really large and the setting looks so pretty and delicate!!

Just a little tiny point... I am pretty sure that photo is of the Fine Line... see the basket? The Sleek Line has more Tiff prongy look (see attached). I only point it out in case that''s what chi decides she wants...

Hi there again, thanks for your lovely comments! I was thinking, if you are still leaning towards the setting I have, you can let Lesley know at WF that I am happy for her to give you my email address and I can send you higher quality pics if you want (are we even allowed to say that here?!). They look so much better before you resize them and you will get a better idea of what it looks like. Just tell Lesley you want Honey''s email address, or pass your one via WF maybe?!

The band is supposed to be 2.2mm approx (the original setting is 2.5mm and they shaved it down) but it looks bigger than that. I would have liked thinner but that can''t be done without affecting the integrity of the setting I believe. I had the stone set as low as possible too. I think the 2.5mm band will be fine with your rock though, and even the 2.2mm would be awesome. I love the look of a tiny band on a solitaire.
i would love to see the bigger pictures! i actually found some more threads with similar round bands, but the more pictures the better! i will ask my sales rep to pass my email address along to you...if they will do that

thanks!!

i really want the band to be as thin as possible, so i''m going to tell them to shave it down as much as they possibly can! it is so strange because the two settings above are the same width, but the tiffany knife edge looks thicker...i wonder if it''s just the picture..

chitown, how lucky of you to find such a great stone at such a great price!

your stone is EXACTLY what i want for my upgrade! 2.6ct I SI2! and eye clean to boot!

i cannot wait to see the finished ring.

oh and to answer your setting question, i choose sleek line over the tiffany knife edge.
thanks milly for providing me with some assurance! i was looking for 2.6, H, SI2, so the ''i'' makes me a teensy bit

, BUT i think it is a great combo also!!

are you currently looking for a new stone??

looks like the sleek line (or fine line as angeline pointed out) is winning out! i do like the fine line because it looks like the cartier solitaire! i am just not too keen on the 4 prong right now...but that changes daily

right now i am leaning torwards something close to honey22's head/shank.

i am going to go try on settings locally for the umpteenth time. each time i look at another picture, i see details that i forget to look at in person. you think whiteflash can make the shank as fluid as a mark morrell ??

sometimes i wish i weren't so picky!

i wish i was currently looking for a new stone, but not yet. i''m hoping for sometime after summer, if all other things in life play out the way we want.

you know hubby doesn''t see the upgrade as high on the list of priorities as i do.

don''t worry about the I color. i currently have a 1.64 I VS1 stone and the i love it! so when the time comes i definitely will stick with another I! i am so happy you were able to find this stone. your new ring will be fabulous!!! can''t wait until you get it on your finger!

thanks milly! i can''t wait to get my ring either, but it will be closer to the summer (that''s what i''m thinking...don''t know what the SO is planning). it might be the same time you are shopping for your upgrade

regardless, i will definitely try to sneak some handshots after we get the ring!

i went and looked at cartier and tiffany solitaires today. they are really beautiful in different ways. tiffany had some stones over 2+, but cartier didn't have large RB's in the store. i didn't want them to go through the trouble of calling one in for me, so i guess i will just have to use my imagination.

i found this cartier pic in another thread, and it confuses me. i thought the 1895 solitaire is 4 prong, but doesn't this picture look like it is six prong?
33.gif
is it just the angle, or do they make a six prong setting as well?

oh i hope so!

the cartier ring you have above looks divine. i think it looks better as a 6 prong than the 4.
