That is the 2.6?? Must be a large hand!

I agree, something doesn't look right.

i thought it looked a bit odd too. i've requested some other pictures, so hopefully those will look better more to scale. i also asked my whiteflash rep why it looks so small and if the hand is just really, really, really humongous.

No way that is the pic of the 2.6. Are you sure they sent you a pic of the correct stone? Something's not right there....

these look better???

lesley called me and told me that they sent me the wrong picture. apparently there was another customer with a similar name, and they got the files mixed up!

btw that is not my setting (i haven''t decided on the setting yet, and it''s driving me crazy

YAY!!! Much better!! Now THAT looks like a 2.6!!!! Its looks like a lovely stone!!!

I almost fainted when I saw that other pic!!! Either it was a pic of a .4 ct stone, or the hand model was Andre the Giant! LOL!!!

OK!! THAT is more like it.

That first picture shows what Lynn B. sees now when she gazes at her 2.34 stone.

you''re right! it was .5 carat!

i have no idea why i thought it could''ve been the right diamond. i was thinking maybe it was the angle, the hand, a combination of both...

Ha, ha!! That''s so funny!!!

So, what did you end up doing about the stone?

That really was funny!!! The new picture shows a really BIG diamond! Did you decide on a setting or will you have them send it to you to look at first!

Wait, I didn''t know WhiteFlash.com sent photos of their actual diamonds. Is this true?

you guys are too funny

i''ve decided on the diamond, but not the setting yet. i''m leaning towards the tiffany knife edge replica, but i still cannot make up my mind!! i am set on a six prong "buttercup" solitaire, but keep wavering between knife edge/round band. i''ll have to think about this some more....

i was thinking about having them set the stone before i ask them to ship it to me. however, by the time i get my ring, my 10 days would be up! anyone know how much shipping/insurance would cost if i asked to see the stone first?

brandon- i just requested an actual photo of the diamond, and they were able to accommodate! :)

Chitowngal-

I just spent 280 roundtrip for it to go the the appraiser.
Pretty sure if i decide to keep the stone they deduct it from the fianl purchase price though.

I also think it may depend on how much they're insuring the stone for so it may be different for everyone. Not sure however.

Whose diamonds would they be sending photos of?

Hehe I couldn''t resist. Anyway they will send photos if you ask...! Their Expert Selection and ACA stones are all in house.

Hi chitowngal,
the stone looks great to me. I like the combo of 4Cs that you have put together.

How did you pick it? Did you send WF your specs or did you find it in their online supply and have them bring it in for review?

Haha...that was funny...I must have stared at the first picture for a good 45 seconds!! The "updated" pic of your diamond is fab!!

thanks fisiogrl!

i asked my whiteflash rep to look for stones that were not in-house since i didn''t see anything i wanted listed on their website. i gave her very specific parameters to work with, including a price cap. whiteflash had the "manufacturer", who housed the stone, send it to them for review since the stone looked promising based on their initial conversations (numbers looked good, eye clean..etc). so, i guess the takeaway is...if you don''t see a stone listed on the website, they may still be able to find you a stone that fits your parameters through virtual listings!

is that how it works? i''m estimating around 100 for shipping/insurance one way for my stone. i''m not having the stone appraised though, so i''m thinking i will wait until it is set...oh i don''t know...i''m torn!

how did your appraisal go, btw?

thanks calibling! i stared at the first picture for a good minute too. i was so confused and thought it was my eyes and the camera playing tricks on me!

The 10 days begins when the ring is delivered, I believe. So even if they took the next two weeks to set it, your return period would not begin until it makes it to you.

The appraisal went well thanks.
He confirmed the color, clarity etc and said it was a beautiful stone. Decided to keep it and it''s now in his office waiting for the wire transfer to go through.

Not to hijack the thread but does anyone know how long the transfer should take? It was done through Citibank yesterday afternoon but as of this morning when my husband logged in, it said "Pending Review". Wondering what''s going on. This never happened before.

I would imagine it will go through sometime today. That would not be unusual for it to take 24 hours, or close too.

And yay! congrats!

I agree, if it was done yesterday afternoon, it may not be credited or hit their account until sometime later today, don''t worry!

Ellen,
I hope so. Getting a little worried here :)

And thank you!!! Will be picking it up tomorrow if all goes well will the transfer and posting a ton of pics!!

chitowngal,
Unless you''re going to get it appraised I don''t believe you need to spend the extra 100 or so on shipping. Might as well wait until the completed ring comes in just to confirm it against the GIA report. Unless you''re having doubts of course.
