Should I go up 1/4 of a size for larger setting? Pics inside

My new ring from DK is almost complete. I'm having a bit of a wobble about the size. In a slim band I'm a 7 1/4. For this design should I go up to 7 1/2 to allow for the wider setting? I would be so sad if it arrived and I couldn't get it on or wear a band with it. Will 1/4 of a size make much difference?

My BGD halo is size 7 1/2 and most of the time it spins on my finger. When I'm hot it fits much better.

Here are some pictures of the rough casting. It's being engraved and the diamond set now. I still have time to resize it.

Personally I do notice a difference between slim/more substantial rings, particularly if I want to wear a band with them. If I'm not wearing a band the difference is much less since I don't have the added width of the band in addition to the wider ring.

What is the mm width on the shank? If it is under 3mm I wouldn't bother. If it is over 3mm I might think about it.

It's definitely under 3mm. I think it's 2.5mm. :)

Hey Maisie,
Having had several rings from DK. I find that his sizing is a bit on the tighter end for me... so I would say go up 1/4 size, its better that its a slightly loose than uncomfortably tight ;( and on those off days that you intake quite a bit a salt (as I do so often) plus summer is around the corner, that extra 1/4 might very well be needed.

That's really helpful D&T! I have emailed DK and asked him to size it up.

I would go the extra 1/4 size. I almost always size my rings 1/4 size larger than my exact ring size. I prefer my rings to be on the looser side, I find it more comfortable and it gives me a bit of extra room for days when my fingers swell a bit.

I can't wait to see the ring when it ks finished - the setting looks great!!!

Have you considered going up 1/8 size to 7.375 = 7 3/8?
