ETA: I also agree with Mara''s comments way back when. The real lasting value here is the unique educational value. Fragmenting it into more of just a social circle takes away it''s uniqueness.
I very much agree with this, Lop.....when I first became familiar with the few online venues, I gravitated toward PS specifically because it wasn''t "social circle" centric.....those are a dime a dozen and don''t add a lot of value. Here, the focus was always on substance, learning, and information.....and the social aspect of it was an afterthought.

This is what always set PS apart....head and shoulders above the rest. It would be a shame to redirect that focus when it''s worked so well to date.

Interesting, I had no clue how anti-social some Pricescopers wanted to be!

LMAO

I''m really enjoying reading everyone''s response to this poll. I think the educational interactive chat is a great idea. I''m not sure what type of cost is involved, but our company offers educational classes using a web conferencing system, www.mshow.com

I have been both an instructor and participant and it''s a great medium for education. I love the fact that I can sit on my sofa in my pajamas and teach people nationwide

Again, thanks for taking time to vote and comment

Kidding aside, I think it''s a misnomer to say that PSers want to be anti-social.

It''s perhaps more accurate to say that many wouldn''t want that "knitting circle" feel to become the primary vibe when the dominant flavor here has historically been education/information.

"Socialness" is somewhat like a very rich dessert; it''s wonderful as an accompaniment or enhancement, but I wouldn''t want it to be the main entree or the entire meal.
