Show me the Bling - the Laboratory Grown version!

Still trying to decide on a set for this beauty… any ideas?

That is gorgeous! It looks like you are leaning towards a pendant! I personally would have it set east west with a halo of diamonds in white gold stationary on a rolo type chain!

Oh one of my local jewellers set it. It wasn't the setting I chose but whatever haha. Here it is.

I actually like that setting. They look to have a low profile!

Yes they are low and the back is open for easy cleaning. I think it works well so I didn't say anything about it not looking like the photo I showed her. I got the 9K white gold setting which worked out to be around $290 USD and that includes setting them so I can't complain lol.

I am so happy to present my dad's 4.2ct haha. He had an old setting that was ugly AF (and that's an understatement) and the jeweller did an amazing job to set this new stone into it. I'm so impressed I had to share.

I got interested in the prices of Luvansh lab grown and decided to order a piece [for science]. It finally arrived! It’s very pretty and can’t beat the price. image.jpg

F VVS2 EX EX EX 1.97ct

I got caught up in Luvansh prices and discounts and bought a 2 week early 50th bday present for myself.
3.86ct Square Cushion Brilliant Lab Diamond, Color- G, Clarity grade - VS2, set in their standard white gold solitaire setting.

My “FOREVER” diamond!!
DH proposed (again) with this AMAZING lab created Emerald Cut Diamond. This is the upgrade of my dreams!
The GIA certificate is attached below.
4.00ct
D Color
VS1 Clarity (100% eye clean)
Excellent Polish
Excellent Symmetry
This Diamond has meaning for us within its very dimensions!
11.19 x 7.38 x 4.93
Our Wedding date is 11/27 (11.19 rounded up is 11.20) :lol-2: I was 38 when we started dating, we were together for 3 years before we married, we have been married for 8 years, we graduated high school together in 1993. My birthday is 1/1, his is 2/14.
The 4ct represent 1 carat for every decade we have known each other; we were just kids when we first met.
The length to width ratio is 1.52:1.DH is 51, and his favorite numbers are 15 & 25 (Basketball & Football jersey numbers).
Today is 2/25/25; this will be the only time in our lives when we will ever see 2/25/25 on the calendar ever again.
He made reservations at the restaurant where we had our wedding reception (different location; ours closed) to surprise me. When we pulled into the parking lot, I cried. He just KNOWS!! We sat in the car, and he reached for something, and it was a ring box. He opened it with a grin, and I DIED!!
We have been researching and on the journey for this stone for a few months. Initially, I was estimating a 3.5ct+. Finding the exact dimensions was extremely challenging. It was evident, we needed to increase the search into the 4ct range. I wanted our wedding date represented, and this diamond checked all the boxes and so much more!
I. Am. In. Love. :kiss2:

What a special story! Love the t-shirt too! The ring is beautiful and looks great with your bands. Congratulations

Huge and stunning! There's nothing like a step-cut and that is one BIG distraction. Congratulations from all directions.

Thank you!!
The t shirt is my favorite! I wear it whenever possible! It was fitting to put the rings with the shirt. ;)2
I cried when we pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant, last night; it was so moving that he put so much thought into everything.
My original EC is set in a pendant, so I can still wear her every day.
This feels like a dream! Nobody pinch me! ♥️
I’ll dedicate a thread to this gorgeous stone, but I want to name her first. =)2

You are absolutely correct! There really isn’t anything like a step cut!! Classic, sophisticated, FLASHY, and distracting. :kiss2:
This is definitely an adjustment.
My original EC is now a pendant, and when I look at my hand now, it takes a minute for my brain to make the connection. :lol-2:
I just can’t believe this one is mine! I am truly fortunate, and I’m so very grateful to our local jeweler for the patience and dedication to helping us source this stone. The price point makes this experience guilt-free, as well. I am enjoying all of it to the fullest!
Having a little fun with light! :cool2:

Thank you so much!
Honestly, I wasn’t sure about the l x w ratio until I saw it in person. My original EC l x w ratio is 1.45:1. This is more elongated, but the size of it compliments the shape of my fingers more than I expected. I love the more rectangular shape for *me*; that’s my preference. I’m so happy these dimensions worked out in our favor!
I took videos of my new EC with my original (it’s now set as a pendant). I think they look perfect together!

I purchased a 1.67ct OEC from Tianyu Gems, a Chinese vendor who was once popular for their moissanite. It arrived today and for the price (<$500), it’s pretty good.

It came uncertified but my sales rep Sue told me it is estimated to be a D with VS2 clarity. I was kind of hoping for something near colorless/G-I, especially for antique cuts, but this was all she had. I’m still deciding if I’m going to wear this on my left or right hand; I still love my 1.15ct lab RB that I got a couple years ago and is my main ring.

Thank you! I was really impressed with the OEC moissanite I purchased from Tianyu a couple years ago and I finally got to see some of their lab OECs from other posters on Reddit. Unfortunately Tianyu doesn’t make too many OECs as they’re a little more difficult to cut and lose more material in the cutting process than the RBs…at least from what I’ve read from other posters.

I’ll try to share the ring once I figure out what I want. If I decide to make it into an RHR, I might do a target ring!
