So last year I got an upgrade to a 1.43ct G SI1 AVC ( http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/6901/ ). It is a beautiful stone, and it has been living in a temporary setting for a year (tapered Stuller Solstice). Here is the original thread with pics of it in it's old setting

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-gog-avc-upgrade-lots-of-pics.138460/
Although I liked the temp setting, it was just that - temporary. I didn't think it set the stone off as nicely as it could be; the shank was thicker than I'd have liked, and it blended into the sides of the stone, making the stone look more elongated than it really is. Anyway - we were very fortunate this year to be able to move the stone to it's beautiful new permanent home - a modified Julia setting from Jewels by Erica Grace!

Hi all - I'm so excited to finally be able to post pictures of this! This is the Tacori HT 2510 1/2X in platinum that I just received from Good Old Gold. It took Tacori around 4-5 weeks to make. I apologize that there are no handshots yet - I'm not planning to propose until the first week in June (I could put it on my pinky and take pics if people really want).

So here is the info on the diamond (1.54 F VS2): http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/7810

As I mentioned, the setting is the Tacori HT 2510 1/2X in platinum, ring size of 4.5. (I never thought I would go with a Tacori setting but when I saw this in person I knew it was the one).

And here are some pics of the completed ring. (Happy to answer any questions or provide some other pictures/angles if anyone wants)

I finally have the stone I was meant to have. I love pears!!! I have to say a big thank you to Jon from GOG for talking with me about my diamond and making me feel confident about my purchase. I found him to be very genuine and personable. The setting is a temporary setting for now but I do really like it. I requested that the prongs be done in a delicate matter and they are. I have no clue what I want to do with the pear because in the end, I want it to be the star of the show. Now on to the good stuff taken straight from my appraisal from GOG since this diamond does not have a certificate.
1.57 F SI1
9.38x6.49x3.90
depth 60.15
table 65.40
Ring size is 5.5

My fiance proposed on the beach at Carmel during sunset. It was very romantic because we went to that same beach and watched the sunset 10 years ago when we first started dating. Then afterwards we had dinner at the same little French restaurant he took me to 10 years ago too.

Our ring is from BGD. The diamond is AGS0 1.2ct I/SI1 (eyeclean). The setting is their collaborative H. Levi Royal Charm in platinum. I have only had it for a week and I've already received so many compliments about how sparkly it is! We couldn't be happier!

Denise at BGD, btw, is awesome! Brian was also very helpful in taking the time to explain all the inclusions in our stone. If you saw the inclusion plot, you would probably be horrified...but it is absolutely eyeclean...exactly as Brian stated! Thank you PS crew for helping us get the best value for our money. In return...here are a few pics for you to enjoy.

Chasiu » 15 Apr 2011 20:55 After over two years since the initial proposal and over a year and a half of marriage, DH and I finally purchased an engagement ring

HOWEVER, Lesley more than made up for it by presenting me with a stone of a the same color and almost same size (which I had also considered) but 1 clarity grade up. I decided to go with Elegance solitaire, which just really spoke to me. So here, I present the glamor shots of my 1.224 J VS2 in an 18k white gold Elegance setting (size 7), which I picked up earlier this morning

Carat: 1.224

Table %: 55.4
Depth %: 61.6

The stone is an antique cushion, 1.75 carats J color VS2 from Leon. He did a beautiful setting for me, that involved many things I love! I was taken by a Single Stone setting several months ago, and wanted to change a few of the minor details. I wanted milgraining around the marquis and the round, and a beautiful and unique head and profile. Gypsy, I was inspired by your gorgeous ring, and had milgraining all the way around the shank.

Many, many, many thanks to Uppy, for communicating with my now fiance over what I would love most. My FI is SUCH a dear and worked so hard.

SweetPea-Hi ladies! I'm officially engaged!

The center stone is a cushion brilliant, 1.3 carats, E color, VVS2. It's bezel set and surrounded by alternating, french cut diamonds and sapphires--8 of each. The shank is adorned with 4 clusters of diamonds and sapphires on each side, 8 in total. (He chose to have many of the elements appear in 8s because he is American-born Chinese, and the number 8 is a lucky number).

Hi everyone,
My long ring saga is nearing it's end. My somewhat crazy ideas have finally materialized. I know they are not everyones cup of tea but I am really pleased with how my ideas meshed into a lovely result.

It is really scary to try to bring something into existence when you have never seen anything like it. Add to that that the stone I fell in love with was not really conductive to the design I wanted. I really want to thank Daniel and Caren from DanielM for holding my hand, for doing so many CADs and trying at all times to create miracles, without them it would have been a harrowing experience.

The stats:
Daniel weighed the stone and it just goes to show that with old cuts you can never know the weight just from measurements.
Centerstone is a OMC cut diamond coming in at 1.07ct and facing up quite a bit larger at 6,89x6,17mm.
I finally went with 1.1mm melee in the halo, 4 bezeled rounds in the shank at 1.5mm and 4 baguettes at 2.5x1.5mm.

Well, I went with the J-color because it gave me the value I needed to up to a 1.50ct. I was also inspired to buy this diamond because of its XXX-cut and VS1 clarity grading. The diamond is stunning in person and currently we have just sent it back to Blue-Nile to have it resized. Handshots will come in a week or two while we wait for the ring.

Please, comments/criticisms!!! Tell me what you think. Did I do good?
