Show me your BLUES

Yippeee! I just got me a little loupe with a black light in it and went through my pretties. :) I have a few I can add here now too! What a fun thread!

I already knew my e-ring had mild fluor, and there are some stones with varying degrees in the melee from mild to very strong (teh stone is an H and the melee is G/H)

And my little OeC studs are nicely fluorescent! I don't really know the color on the stones, maybe I/J?

Love to see all the blue fluorescent! Here is my .59 M VS2 with strong blue fluor.

I think the only center stone I have that DOESN'T have fluor is my original e-ring, since I didn't know how beautiful it looked in diamonds until I came here! Since then, I've gotten my pear pendant, which is a 1.3 carat E, SI1 with GIA SBF, my earrings, which are .73 and .74 GIA H SI2s with SBF, and my anniversary ring, which is a roughly 2.5 carat J VVS2 with estimated MBF (graded mounted).

In NYC, what with pollution, I can't see the fluor in sunlight generally, though there are a few times when I *think* something's there, on very sunny days.

And the anniversary ring with my little keychain blacklight aimed at it: I should totally pull out my black light and take some shots of the whole fluorescent family together!

Just got mine today! 1.61 JSI1 Very Strong Blue. Haven't presented it to her yet!

How are you guys getting photos of the fluor? My camera photos just comes out white.

Thanks Circe. I have the light but the led screen seems to light up the stone when I try to get a close photo. I gotta figure out how to stop the red light from coming on.

Circe, oh how I love your anniversary ring!!!!!

Mine is a 1.71 I colour SI1 with SBF. I was hoping perhaps I could get a pale blue or violet look in the sun, but that doesn't seem to happen (then again, it is winter sun currently). But it does seem quite white to me with no warmth in the stone that I can see.

I notice the blue only in direct sunlight. When it's overcast, it just looks white.

2.59 carats, F, VS1, medium blue fluor

I think this one is indoors.

Where are all of your bezel earrings from?

They are gorgeous!

Thanks. Kait! Sorry about missing this till now - only spotted it when I read in the "Latest" format. The main milgrain studs are ID Jewelry, the yellow and rose gold smaller one are Brian Gavin Diamonds. Both a pleasure to work with!

Love the blues. I am upgrading my e ring and leaning toward some fluorescence .

Hi LD!

I adore your three-stone pear. One of the things I love most about it is the ratio of the main stone to the side pears - it is just lovely. My boyfriend and I have been looking at three-stone pears but I don't know where to begin in terms of stone-to-stone ratio. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing the carat size of the main and side stones - my apologies if that is too forward! If anything, just what fraction of the side stones are relative to the main stone would be so helpful.

Thank you for your time :wavey:

DANG that's pretty!!! You sure that's not a blue diamond??? :sun:

More blue diamonds!! If the SO gave me a blue diamond, I would install a UV light in one of my rooms and never come out. Probably.
