Show Me Your Diamond Studs!

My new studs from GOG. 1.80 total, one is H and the other is I but I cannot tell them apart. My earlobes are huge so they still look pretty small compared to some of you with more dainty ears.

Mine are finally on their way to me. I should be getting them on Monday.

Bastetcat - one of your pics shows a tiny stud in your upper piercing. Could you tell me what size they are and where I could get something similar please? Unfortunately I have weird lobes and only tiny studs look good. I've found tiny CZs but would dearly love to replace them with the real thing!

TIA

My sister's 2.29 & 2.33ct both GIA K color with VVS2 clarity. How strict does GIA get? I could barely see any color on the studs. Considering getting my ears pierced so I can rock these rocks.           :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: img_1111.jpg

My favorite studs are the ones with the martini set. Beautiful!

Did you view these in the jewelry store or out in other lighting? Jewelry store lighting makes everything sparkle and telling how much color a stone has can be a bit more challenging under those conditions. Well-cut K stones will look more bright and white and not-so-well-cut stones. I've seen some lower color stones that look white and also, once I saw a K colored pear shape stone (around .60 ct) that was noticeably yellow (not sure which lab certified it).

Yay! I finally get to play... =)

I just picked up my WhiteFlash Expert Selection .85 cttw G SI1 a couple of hours ago. They are very sparkly but after viewing so many ladies with big beautiful studs, I'm afraid I'm already suffering from DSS! Yikes!

my sister's just upgraded her studs from 2.29 & 2.33ct both GIA K color with VVS2 clarity into these monstrous 5.03ct & 5.01ct. Both GIA K color with VVS1/VVS2 clarity grades as an engagement gift from my grandmother.

those are just unfair to the rest of us. But wear them in good health.

I think they look absolutely amazing. They do NOT look too big on her! I think people with dark hair look PARTICULARLY good in diamonds, as they show up well. Sigh. What lovely earrings. Tell us about them. Do they sparkle well? Is the cut good?

My mom and grandmom are big on investment sized pieces, so we've been taught that if we do want to wear blings, make sure that it's something that's gonna increase in value as time goes by. My sister wanted to have quite sizeable studs, so she had been saving for the longest time till she could afford the previous pair of 2ct+2ct. Then she got engaged last month and my gradmom was so happy for her that she got her the current pair for her to wear for her wedding.

I was quite surprised too that they don't look too big on her. And I was also shocked that GIA graded K for the color as they look positively white both in jewelry store lighting and outdoor, but what do I know? GIA had spoken and we commoners should just sit in the corner and enjoy our blings. And oh, it is GIA 3x EX for one and EX VG EX for the other, so they bling just fine.

Oh my.. there isn't such a thing as too big when bling is involved! :appl:
They are FABULOUS!!!!

I'm almost horrified to post my little babies after those 5 carat honkers but here are my somewhat new bezel studs from IDJ. In all honesty, I'm not crazy about the bezel setting, they're beautifully milgrained and very high quality but hard to clean and the diamonds just don't sparkle the way I'd hoped they would (and the diamonds on their own are VERY sparkly). Not sure what my next step is, whether it's getting them reset in a different kind of bezel, maybe one that's more like BGD's with the open'ish back or whether I just go ahead and upgrade to ex ex ex cut and maybe a bit bigger in a 6 prong setting down the road, we shall see! On that note, however, I basically live in them and they look very large in my ears which I love. As always, love IDJ and they helped make this purchase incredibly easy.

very good cut

And here they are! (don't judge my bad photos)

They're lovely! Any chance you can give an ear shot?

I think the bezel setting is unique and beautiful!

I personally think it's not necessary to bezel the diamonds if you were to put them on your ears, cus' the girdles are at much much less of a risk than if, say, a diamond ring - unless the aesthetics of bezel setting appeals to you! They do exude modesty and do look classier in my honest opinion. If the lack of bling bothers you, why don't semi-bezel it? I've never seen a semi-bezel stud, and I'd loooove to seee some! Or just put them in a 4 claws setting!

In ear shot (ignore my funny looking face ;)!)

Thanks! The yellows are soooooo cool! There is nothing quite a luscious as yellow diamonds in yellow gold. There will be more to follow I have no doubt! Hopefully pendant next!

Thank you heididdl :wavey:

I found a better picture up close to portrait the rainbow spectrum of colors for these studs. I just love the sparkles and rainbow lust of the diamonds, I found that my phone camera does not have enough capability (No fancy marcro lense) to capture the depth and richness of their appearance.

By 'lust', I mean luster. Ooops!

I can never get a great photo of mine
