I was about to pull the trigger on a band like this (the Tiffany Cobblestone, which I tried on in Vegas at the GTG), but for some reason, I'm hesitating. I'm wondering if there's some way to alter the pattern of the rose cuts in the center to be a bit more unique (so it's not an exact copy). I'd still want it to be classic with a vintage feel. I've scoured all of the usual sites for ideas, but I'm coming up empty. I've asked JBEG and Singlestone for quotes and am waiting to hear back, but wanted to throw this out there in the meantime!

Does anyone have any ideas? I need to feel like I explored all options before I move forward. Thanks for your help!

Here's another one I like though it's definitely different from the Cobblestone...I sort of like the two tone....

I love both of those, and I'd love a straight, single row of bezeled rose cuts between the two milgrain diamond bands maybe more, unless I was able to get the real Tiffany cobblestone band. My other top choice for a ring like this would be a single row of French cuts between the two bands. It would be a hard decision for me to choose between french cuts and rose cuts, but both would have that same subtle look that I think is gorgeous!!! (I am still trying to decide about a band myself, but I might go with the simple french cut eternity and then I could wear a thin band on either side to get almost the same effect.)

Thanks DS. I can get an exact replica of the Cobblestone (though I'd want the stones to go only 3/4 of the way around the band for sizing purposes). I just need this to be another forever piece and I'm not sure what I'm hesitating about, kwim?

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean! It is serious money to have something like this custom made, and I need to make the right decision on my first try! I think my main uncertainty about a 3/4 cobblestone band would be what the 1/4 would look like and how it would tie in to the rest of the ring.

I'd probably just have it engraved. I just wish that I could see more examples of bands like I posted to make sure that the Cobblestone remains my favorite.

Where are you on making a decision?

Yenny!!! You are too funny! If my eternity that Jbeg is making doesn't work out the cobblestone is my fall back plan! I love your taste.

Honestly I think while both bands are a nod to a similar time period you wouldn't love the two tone as much. I would think it wouldn't look right next to your current collection where as a cobbelstone band/ inspired by would fit right in. I personally love the look of the two tone but it doesn't pull at my heart like the cobble stone.

Some of the ideas I was toying.
-Adding small pears in with the round rose cuts.
-Besides rose cut diamonds add in small tsav's for a splash of color (more following the Tiffany celebration theme line). I have attached a picture below that is semi similar to the cobblestone and I think a pretty green would give it an edge but still make it slightly different.

For something completely different I love the 2nd band too. I know it is owned by a PSer but I can't remember who. There is something very delicate about it that I really like.

I'll post some more later this afternoon that might help if you still want to see some other options. However I think the cobblestone or a version of it would be beautiful for you and that would be my vote. Perhaps you are just 2nd guessing yourself because you already have a RHR that you love. So while it would be nice to have another forever piece you don't feel the urgency???? maybe??

Details SB!! I need details on the band that JBEG is making for you! Good heavens woman, you are amassing quite the collection!

I like the PSer band you posted. I see what you're saying about the two tone not working as well with my other rings, but my intention is to wear this band as a standalone when I want something more understated....

I'll look forward to seeing more of your ideas (and your new band!!)...

I am kind of at a stand-still because a lot depends on whether I want the band to work with the AVR. And I don't know how I will set the AVR yet! So in a way, it would be easier if I did a stand-alone band and then I wouldn't have to worry about it! But it's not like I really need a stand-alone band since I have a couple of others I can wear when I don't wear my set! :twirl:

It will help me if I can see mom2boy's new band in July, though.

How about adding some pink diamonds to the cobblestone :cheeky: ?

I'm interested to see how my French cut band will look like IRL, too!

It's a reset of an eternity that I have. It was set in YG and just really uncomfortable to wear with the prongs sticking into my finger. JbEG is doing the reset and I hope it will be more comfortable as I want a stand alone to wear. Here is a thread where I talk about it. It will be a mix between my inspiration piece and AsshcherGirl''s Band.

Anyhow if it just isn't comfortable to wear still because of the diamond size then I plan on doing the cobblestone piece, but probably with some tsav's in the mix as I would really like a splash of color. It wouldn't be till next year though at the very earliest as we are planning on moving in the next 6 months.

I understand your dilemma DS! I agree that it might make sense to figure out what you're doing with your AVR before you take on another project.

Mom2boys, pink diamonds would be lovely. Hmm...

SB, now I know which band you're working on...I'd forgotten about your eternity band...when are you expecting to receive it?

I've toyed with the idea of doing the cobblestone rose cuts in platinum and the single cut melee bands at the top and bottom in rosé gold...what do you all think?

I think it might look too cutesy vs. classic, however if you work with a vendor I would be interested to see a CAD. I'm a visual person so I can't usally make decisions till I have seen it. I"m not good at imagining things.

Good point SB. I guess whether I get a CAD or not will depend on the vendor I use. ;))

Oh my goodness! I love the cobblestone, and was even going to have one made with pink sapphires instead of rose cuts!
That project died, but here are some pics of me visiting it at tiff's.

I also have a serious longing (that will one day be fulfilled) for a Georg Jensen fusion ring. Le sigh.
I will actually shell out for the real thing here, but I'll probably get a cobblestone made instead of buying from Tiffany.
By the way, those pics show a size seven on my chubster six finger.

ETA: SB621, someone here has a DeBeers lotus ring? Awesome! Please please remember the thread!

Woofmama, those Carl Blackburn rings are right up my alley, though it scares me that the prices aren't listed! I'll give Julian at Pearlman's a call and see if it's in the realm of possibility.

Janesmith, you have awesome taste girl! cobblestone looks gorgeous on you! I'd be having one made too...I'm not willing to pay Tiffany prices and I only want the stones to go 3/4 of the way around. I'm kinda glad that's not you in the photo....that girl looks really snotty and I might have to hate her!! :nono:

Purplesilk, I LOVE Buccellati, but I've never seen one for much under $10K, which is way out of my budget. That Firenze Rose Cut diamond band is TDF...

MissKittyCat, that ring is pretty, but a bit modern for my tastes.

Thank all of you so much for taking the time to dig up these photos/options for me, I really appreciate it! So far, my fav is still the Cobblestone, which is re-affirming for me that I really do love it and won't find something I like better 6 months from now!

YF-I love the cobblestone-gorgeous!!! I have also always loved this Loree Rodkin band from JBEG :)

Thanks stepcutnut! That Rodkin band is really pretty...I'm just not sure I'd love it forever, if you kwim?

have you looked at Pearlman's closeout?

Repeatedly!!

Hi Yenny,
I have a band like DS is talking about with french cuts. Also, I have a wide pave band by Carl Blackburn too, and it continually loses stones and goes out of round :angryfire: I would not recommend his stuff.

Oh, where is my LOVE smiley when I need him???? :((

I love your ring, Iluvcarats!!!! :appl:

Yenny, I do think rose gold is beautiful on you, so I would be in favor of incorporating rose gold depending on the design. But if it is on the edges with melee diamonds, I am thinking it might need pink melee. I did think the band with the engraved center band would be pretty with rose gold instead of yellow.

anyone remember the young woman many years ago looking for a wide band to be both her e-ring and wedding band?
had I thought of that and seen some of the bands posted here I may never have gotten my spess.......seriously, there are some gorgeous bands in this thread!

Gulp!! That is gorgeous!! Do you have a handshot by any chance? How wide is it? Do the stones go all the way around and if so, have you lost any? Please tell me you still have your VC two tone band?? If I could afford Van Craeynest, that would totally be a contender!!

I agree DS....the band I posted with the yellow gold in the center would have been gorgeous in rosé gold! I'll have to look into how much more expensive pink melee are than white....do they come in single cuts I wonder??

MZ, can you possibly find the ring you are thinking of? I'd love to see it!!
