I don''t have time to post a pic right now but I will later. I''d love another ring by JM.

Awesome ring, Innerkitten. I've posted your photos for others to enjoy. Couple of questions... How wide is your band at the top and what does it taper down to under your finger? What is your finger size - and what size ring did you get (any larger based on the fact that it is a wider ring)? About how high off your finger does it sit? Finally, are you still enjoying the chunkiness of it? Love it!!

Thanks paeony and peachy! And peachy thanks for posting my pics ;)

yes it''s unplated white gold and very chunky, but also very comfortable. The shank where it meets the stone is about 5.5mm going down to about 3.5 at the back where the band is. The tip top of the stone sits just 6mm from my finger so it''s not set very high. I totally love it and would like to have something else by him one of these days. He does really fine work.

Oh and my ring size is 6.5.

I love the width--nice and substantial. It''s perfect on your hand. I''d really love to have a piece like this someday with a colored stone. Could always use another JM!

Another designer I love who works in a similar vein is Constance Gildea.

I love this and have the page saved, but I love (I know shock) the wider sapphire band.

A slight variation of Coati''s ring

(I love this color combo!)

-- I''m not sure but are the wraps in green gold?

Wouldn''t this be lovely with rose gold as well?

Oh yes! That would be so soft and lovely.

I would love a photoshop of it.. can it be done?

I might have an example already shopped. Let me see--BRB...

All my future jewelry purchases are on hold until we can buy our house... I WANT several things but I dont NEED them (right now.. *sigh) lol Actually.. that''s not completely true.. I may have some pearl drops made for my diamonds so I can wear them with my wedding choker (under $100.. so.. maybe bday in June).. Hugs!!!

Hugs back SDL!

ooo pearl drops sound lovely! It''s funny, I thought I didn''t need anymore jewelry for awhile, but I realized I don''t have many everyday earrings. Earrings and necklaces are the last thing I think about buying--I''m such a ring nut. I just picked up a couple of pairs of earrings from Etsy, and the little pendants. (posted in the Etsy thread) I''m really getting into wearing just metals--no stones----oh who am I kidding...I always want stones!
3.gif
I would like to collect more simple metal pieces, though.

For SDL--here it is photoshopped in RG. I hope you can see it! I tried to make it subtle and kept the two tone.

Wow, Innerkitten... It''s not as wide as I thought it was! It''s totally gorgeous and substantial looking on you, so much so that I thought it was closer to 6 or 6.5mm wide. Coati is right - the pictures of JM''s rings do make them seem larger than they are IRL.

Question - were you able to try this style on before you ordered it or did you just take a chance?

Hmm.. pretty but maybe just the white gold with rose gold accents could be done. I still love it. Would be fantastic with a pink sapphire!
31.gif
You''re amazing. I''m so photoshop illiterate..

Yanno, I like rg for some pieces, but not JM. I spoke with him about rg, and I got the feeling he does not prefer it--someone please correct me if I''m wrong about that! Just a feeling I got. I think his pieces look the best in white and yellow metals.

I got the idea here on PS a very long time ago. I dont know who''s they were or where they got them but I fell in love with them. I love the Esty thread.. I peruse pretty often ;) The only realy jewelry purchase I''ll make this year is for hubby with his ring.

What style ring are you getting your hubby? JM?

I love his men''s bands!

just got off the phone with Mr Meyer (whose ears must be burning this morning from this thread!)

he gave me a quote for my plat 3.25mm wedder with milgrain edges to go with my 3 stone. *very* good price - i was surprised! and very pleased :D

and away we go on the next project.

i currently have orders in with 3 different jewelers for 4 different rings (wedder replacement with JM, 3 stone reset with von bargens in NH and a pair of anniversary rings made from our original YG wedding rings with my original jeweler in australia). my husband is just totally bemused...

and i''m THRILLED!

:D

Thanks guys! Coati, the spess is from Precision gem. I had not tried on that exact style before, so I did take a bit of a risk. I had tried on domed rings before which are similar in feel and style.

Whitby, his prices are very reasonable aren''t they.

Innerkitten--it''s such a lovely spess, I love Gene''s cuts.:)

Whitby--awesome! You''re going to love your band!

I''m having a difficult time deciding really. Because he''s never owned a sapphire, I''m leaning towards that with diamonds. He can''t wear his wedding band anymore because its too big, so he only wears a heavy comfort fit band I''d bought him to wear for work.
7.gif
(That makes me SO sad given how excited & surprised he was to receive his at our wedding). SO.. the band must be able to be resized if necessary. I''m leaning towards a channel set band or.. a sapphire center with diamonds on the side. I just can''t find men''s bands with any real *OOMPH!* Not over the top, just masculine but nice. Does that make sense?
7.gif

How many stones do you want in the band? Have you considered flush set or bezel set?

woo hoo! i am thrilled for you whitby, such exciting things in the works!

thanks rainydaze and sandiegolady. :) i''m very excited about my projects.

i dont normally have this many projects going at the one time, but i''ve made a decision that next year will mark the end of my jewelry purchasing. i turn 50 in 2010, and i''ve reached a point where i want to use my money for different things, and i also want to put more money into various charities - especially given this economic climate. so this is like my last run!

and innerkitten -i thought JM''s prices were very reasonable - and i didnt expect it. what a nice man he is, too - lovely to deal with someone like that.

it''ll probably be 6 weeks till i have both the remodeled 3 stone and the JM band to go with it, but i''ll make a point of posting pictures when i do. :)

JM has my garnet and should be starting soon on my RHR, woo hoo!

SanDiegoLady - here''s a few men''s bands with diamonds/sapphires that you might like -

imagine *this* with sapphires...

http://www.jewelryexpert.com/catalog/Gents-Razzle-Dazzle-Ring.htm

ok - no need to imagine it...

http://www.jewelryexpert.com/catalog/Sapphire-Razzle-Dazzle-Ring-sr.htm

altho i have to say - i''ve always been partial to *this*...

http://www.jewelryexpert.com/catalog/Platinum-and-Sapphire-Band-sr.htm

i very much like the yellow gold/platinum combo in that last one. anyway, just a few ''visual thoughts''.

:)

SDL--here are a couple Caleb Meyer bands that are really cool. Their bands are custom, so they could make what you want if you were interested.

This one is really cool, and could be modified to have sapphires and diamonds.
